“Excellent Hotel”
Reviewed September 14, 2013

Stayed a while ago for five days it was excellent and friendly staff very accomadating. Our room was very comfortable, with modern furnishings. Staff were friendly and helpful. Continental breakfast in the morning very convenient. Hotel is located on commercial strip several miles from historic Santa Fe - about 10-15 minutes drive. Near to supermarkets, restaurants, etc.

I think this hotel was great. Great for the price, great for the staff great location and overall I place I would use every time I was in Santa Fe. ALL I want is a clean room, fresh accomodations. I don't need a fitness center.
I don't need room service because we travel to eat.

Room Tip: I would think all rooms were great

I just spent four nights at this property and can totally recommend it for anyone looking for clean and quiet accomodations. The husband and wife management team work extremely hard to make sure that you are totally satisfied with your stay. At first I thought that road noise might be a problem so I asked to be relocated from a deluxe room in the front of the building to an upper floor room near the rear. There was plenty of space in the room for my wife and me and it had everything I might need or want: refrigerator, microwave, work table with two chairs, flat screen TV with DirecTV, clean carpeting, comfortable king bed, dual nightstands, coffee maker, and plenty of hot water. The vanity area is a little small and the tub creaked a lot during showers, but these aren't deal-breakers. Breakfasts were always well stocked and offered a variety of choices. I didn't use the pool or hot tub, but I always got a good night's sleep and always felt secure. There is no elevator, but there are both interior and exterior stairs to the second floor. Management and housekeeping are very generous with their efforts to please!

Santa Fe’s accommodation seems to be a bit pricier that other places in the USA (that I’ve been to). We chose to stay here because of price. It’s a relatively small operation and what it does offer it does efficiently. It's clean, rooms are a decent size and the pool and hot tub are moderate but well maintained. It is, however, a bit of hike from downtown. There are buses and there seemed to be a bit of parking downtown as well. But if you’re wanting to spend a day or two wandering around downtown that doesn’t involve either public transport or driving, splash out for downtown digs. If not, there's nothing wrong with this. Surrounded by various shopping complexes and restaurants, it's hardly in the middle of nowhere....

DrMark034: Thank you for writing a detailed review. You are right about Santa Fe being relatively pricy which is due to the fact that Santa Fe has one of the highest minimum wage in USA. That being said, we offer an excellent value as you probably found out by comparing other places in our category of motels. Thank you for noticing that we offer everything efficiently. We are not located in the Plaza- which could be at least three times more expensive, but at the same time, we are a short 10 to 15 minutes drive from the plaza. Also, our European and all other foreign guests seem to prefer the convenient bus (one minute walk from our motel) to the Plaza so that you don't have to worry about parking. And as you mentioned, we are walking distance from numerous restaurants, shopping options, movie theaters and so on...
Thank you again for your detailed review and we hope you had a safe trip back to Australia and we hope to see you again in future! Regards- GM

We booked this hotel for one night passing through Santa Fe on reward program points, and didn't expect the room it to be great, but were pleasantly surprised. The property is either new or the room was recently totally renovated, large & very clean room, new decor, very comfortable bed new linens and plenty of pillows. The bath is a bit small, but looks brand new, and the sink area outside the bath is small, but clean and nice. The towels were thin, but over all in was better stay than expected. Would probably stay again.

I stayed one night,. Was impressed with the helpful front desk clerk and the housekeeping person who hurriedly made a room ready for me (I got there about 1pm).

I was a little worried about the rooms when I was walking to it, down the hall. The hall is dark and dated. But the rooms are just fine - clean, quiet, somewhat new, and filled with everything you need. I've paid quite a bit more for rooms like these.

Rooms also had a huge tv with lots of channels but I don't care much about tv so that didn't matter to me.

A/C was cold, shower was hot, and although I brought my own coffee grounds (old habit), I didn't need them because the breakfast bar coffee was surprisingly good.

No elevator, btw, so if you have a hard time carrying luggage up stairs, you might ask for help Only two floors.

Overall, I was impressed with this place and will use it again next time I pass through Santa Fe.

Also the front desk folks were helpful about local advice, where to ride my bicycle, etc.
