We had a 4 hour hike to Chimney Rock in October 2012, courtesy of Georges. Both he and Sue are great. Sue worked with us via email many times prior to the trip as we pondered which hike to choose and how to work around some bad weather. They offered us plenty of options, meeting us wherever it was convenient, bringing along lunch. And then the hike itself was unbelievable. Georges seemed to know the history of all the rocks and trees we saw along the way. Very colorful commentary on top of the excellent scenery. Georges and Sue make it seem like you are in New Mexico visiting old friends rather than working with a business. There is a 100% chance we will be hiking with them again next time.

We had the pleasure of spending 121/2 hours with Georges on a full day trip to Chaco Canyon. We started planning this trip with Sue in January, 2012; everything was executed to perfection! Georges was at our hotel promptly at 7:00am and was great company for our 3+++ hour drive to and 3+++hour drive from Chaco Canyon. We talked about travels, Indian culture, flora, fauna, etc. etc. I cannot imagine a better guide/companion for a day trip...knowledgable, pleasant, caring, and helpful.
Santa Fe Walkabouts is a first rate company. Five stars in every respect.

Excellent service from Santa Fe Walkabouts who would even take a party of 1 or 2 on our scenic tours and not only a group as with the other tour companies. We had great personal service first, by email from Sue who filled us in on more details on attractions and offered recommendations, as well as being able to make our reservations by email.

We then had a most pleasant and informative drive out to Taos Pueblo and the next day to the Puye Cliff dwellings with Fritz, a New Mexico native, who offered his personal experience in the area as well as interesting historical and cultural highlights. Native American guides were excellent at both locations, although maybe some advisory on the somewhat difficult climb and heights would have prepared us more. We also dropped by an additional Pueblo for an overview of pottery making by an artisan when another dance event was cancelled at Puye. We really appreciated the flexibility of our guide.

Highly recommend the personal and professional service of this company.

We had a fun filled ride in The Pinz (a military vehicle that can go about anywhere it seemed) with Georges at the wheel. We were on route 66 which at that point was a dirt road, drove to a high point (I think we were in the Santa Fe National Forest) and saw a gorgeous sunset. It was a gorgeous night and it was more fun than a carnival ride as we drove along the unpaved roads.
Georges filled us in on the history of the area and it was an entirely fun event. Sue (owner) was so very helpful with all the arrangements and other advice about the area. I'd highly recommend this company. If you follow them on Facebook, you'll see wonderful photos of the area.

I'm SO glad we found Santa Fe Walkabouts before our family vacation. Sue was very responsive to questions and Georges was a trip! from the moment he picked us up in the morning to the moment he dropped us off it was clear that he absolutely LOVES what he does! He is SO knowledgable about the area and it's history-cultural, political, geological....it made our hike through Tent Rocks a real treat that we will remember forever! We highly recommend Sant Fe Walkabouts for anyone (everyone?) visiting Santa Fe!
