Our family of 4 had a great time on our snowshoe outing organized by Karen and guided by Larry. Karen had contacted us the week before we came that snow conditions weren't too good and we might want to hike instead, or cancel with no obligation if it didn't snow. However, the day before our outing we skied in 17" of new snow at Ski Santa Fe so we knew that showshoeing was a go. Larry met us at our condo to get things fitted before stepping out into the cold snowy morning, and drove us up the mountain in his car, too. He had plenty of snacks and a thermos of hot chocolate, and well as hand warmers if needed. My wife and I had snowshoed once and the boys never had, but their youthful fitness had them leading before long. Larry did an excellent job of pacing to keep us moving without getting too winded, either. The woods were beautiful, and Larry knew enough to answer all our questions without overwhelming us with information. We had a great time!
