Description: Vinaigrette is a bright and modern bistro housed within a charming old adobe in historic Santa Fe. The hip restaurant specializes in creative entree salads, soups and grilled meats that utilize fresh, organic and locally sourced ingredients--including produce grown on the restaurant's farm just north of town. Excellent, affordable wine list and microbrew beer on draft complement the cuisine. Open 11am to 9pm, Monday through Saturday.

“Crunchy Winner”
Reviewed February 15, 2014

The only challenge here is the oddball location and parking confabulation, but if you take it in your stride and see it as part of the Santa Fe experience, you'll eventually locate the restaurant and a parking place and enjoy a nutritious, satisfying meal. Vinaigrette is known for and delivers on the promise of imaginative, consistent and super fresh soup, salad and sandwich offerings. Our party of three each ordered a different salad, and each was excellent with flavorful combinations of fresh greens, various cheeses, dressings and other ingredients. My cup of gumbo was the real deal, with ample chicken, shrimp and andouille sausage, and just the right amount of spice. Surprising how rarely a restaurant gets gumbo just right. Zesty hibiscus iced tea served in a jar glass with a thick slice of lemon, friendly, prompt service and a spot-on price-value equation made for a perfect lunch that we will definitely repeat the next time we are in the neighborhood.

Everything is good. The sandwiches and soups are underrated and delicious can't go wrong with anything on the menu.

“Food is great; location terrible”
Reviewed February 2, 2014

I went to Vinaigrette with a friend for lunch on the weekend and actually had a really pleasant food experience. I ordered a pear-fessor salad with greens, nuts, pears, cheese, and a some wine, and my friend had a sandwich. The atmosphere was enjoyable; I arrived a little before lunchtime and saw the place fill up pretty quickly. There are lots of tourists who seem to know this place but locals also come here. The service was very good, attentive, and the food arrived promptly. The food is fresh and the owner grows her own produce locally. The quality of the salad and sandwiches were great. The prices were somewhat higher than one might expect, but this is Santa Fe, where everything is overpriced and service is usually under par. The biggest drawback was finding the place, as google maps was completely unhelpful. I ended up in somebody's alley driveway, quite literally, just by following the google directions. The best way to get there is to realize it's right off Cerrillos, but very hard to tell which of the 3 buildings in front of you is the restaurant (it's the largest one farthest to the left as you enter on Don Cubero Alley, marked very badly). The location is really bad unless you walk. Parking is very hard so bring the smallest car you can find or a bicycle, or better yet, just walk. I'm really not kidding. I would say that the location is the biggest problem with this place.

“Consistent Great Food!”
Reviewed January 7, 2014

I'm there at least twice a month or so. I go there any time I have a need for greens! Staff is great and so is the food! Our most recent meal was for New Year's Eve -- we did a wine flight pared with delicious food -- fried oysters, fresh crab salad. Nice, light and healthy!

“Going downhill”
Reviewed December 31, 2013

When this restaurant first opened it was great with attention to fresh ingredients and good wait staff. My experience today was terrible with both.
I ordered "the beet goes on" which arrived with very overcooked mushy beets! I was wondering what new exotic green was included in the salad and it turned out to be just old yellowing greens which I left on the edge of my plate.
The wait person was overworked and edgy and far from friendly.I am wholly disappointed in the decline of this restaurant. It was lunch time and so I expected a good bit of noise but it was truly deafening and would be terrible if you were hard of hearing (or maybe not!).
