The Lensic center brings real talent to Santa Fe!! It's amazing how you can walk in for a show and the performers are so close to the audience. Pretty good set up. I've seen some really famous people here. Glad this place is in my town.

While you're in SFe, check out what's happening at the Lensic, the exterior is Moorish/Spanish Renaissance style and the interior is like a little jewel box. Nancy Zeckendorf completely remodeled the place in 2001 from a movie palace to a state-of-the-art, nonprofit performing arts center. It's fantastic and Bob Martin brings an enormous variety of music, dance and community together. It's really worth a visit. I've never gone away from a performance unhappy. Just beautiful. Recently saw National Geographic editor at large/photographer Nick Nichols present 'Giants, Lions and Elephants' and it was awesome. Support the arts!

Catch a performance of the wonderful Aspen Santa Fe Ballet, a lecture, film or musical performance at this downtown Santa Fe venue. They also feature live opera performances from the Met.

I was recently at the Lensic again for a jazz performance featuring Terri Anne Carrington, Geri Allen and Esperanza Spalding. This venue is the essence of Santa Fe, and I have seen many a performance at this location, since I moved to NM 17 years ago. There is no bad spot in the house and the acoustics are excellent.

A couple additional things, they have a nice little bar for you to partake in beverages as well as a convenient garage across the street to park. The times I have been there, the artists have come out to meet folks, sign CDs, etc. It is located right in the Santa Fe square area, and it is easy to go grab a bite to eat at any number of really great places nearby for dinner. Patrons will dress casually or more formally, anything goes!

I love the Lensic and look forward to the concert there!

The one dance that was right before the intermission was the dance that THE word DANCE means when you use it. Oh my: touch, motion, emotion, tender soft sound and expression of breath taking form. So glad I was a witness.
