“A very nice surprise”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 22, 2012

We are new locals here in Santa Fe. We went to this restaurant on my husband's birthday. It was fantastic. The food is delicious. Atmosphere warm and inviting. Service outstanding. The head chef will check in to see if all is well and he is very unpretentious.

We'll be back!!!

“I wouldn't miss the scamafan or pecan pie!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 11, 2012

It's a cozy place with an attractive open cooking arrangement. Skip the signature pate. Don't miss the scamafan, which means something like "pick-me-up", a dish of calabrese sausage, mushrooms and tomatoes-yum! Also, the best pecan pie I've even had!

“A small gem in a town of many restaurants.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 11, 2012

My husband and I stumbled upon this intimate restaurant on our way to find a place to eat our first night in Santa Fe. It was just down the street from the Old Santa Fe Inn where we were staying. It looked so warm and inviting we decided to take a chance to find two seats even though it appeared completely full. The owner said there were no tables, but there were two seats at the small bar that faced the grill. It was perfect. A warm and friendly place, we chatted with the cooks while we watched them prepare our dinner. The menu was small, but had wonderful selections, including the specials of the day. Chicken, fish, pasta, beef and veal are all included, along with wonderful soups, salads, and desserts. Everything we ordered was done perfectly with the freshest ingredients. We were so impressed we made reservations for a second night at the end of our stay, when we did have a table. And again the dinner was outstanding. The owner remembered us from the week prior, and was pleased we were back again. If you plan to go to Galisteo Bristro it is advised to make reservations well in advance, especially during the weekends. Locals are frequent clients because the food is so wonderful and the prices are very reasonable. The wine list, although limited, is also wonderful at all price points. We will definitely return on our next visit

“Loved, loved, loved it!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 10, 2012

There are so many good places to eat in Santa Fe, and we only had two nights, so we really struggled making a selection. We were so glad that we discovered Galisteo Bistro. The chef/owner came to our table to explain the specials and answer questions. The waiter was also very knowledgeable. The wine list was a little pricey, but there were wine specials as well (none that we were familiar with, but it was fun trying something new and different). I had seafood pasta (excellent!) and my husband had braised lamb shank, which he still raves about. One of our favorite meals in our 2 1/2 week trip! Total bill for two salads, two entrees, bottle of wine, and tip was $134.
