The service is great and the food is traditional New Mexican just like home made. The desserts are incredible.

“What you’d expect for local place”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 26, 2012

Good food and service. Local food is the typical gooey mix on a plate, and the place is very quaint. I made the mistake of ordering the “hottest” dish on the menu (as the waiter explained to me after), yet there was no indication on the menu or warning by the waiter and I don’t like spicy food. Oh my. Just make sure before you order. But otherwise, happy I went and experienced what this was all about.

“Really good.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 26, 2012

Let's cover the adminstrative stuff first. Make reservations in advance...even a few weeks in advance. We were in Santa Fe over Christmas. We called for reservations and were told that nothing was available for another week. You may want to make reservations for any of the top rated restaurants just to be sure you have a spot. We arrived an hour before opening and were able to get our name on a walk-in list. We waited at the bar and had a good time visiting with other patrons. And we were surprised that we could actually eat at the bar. So we did and enjoyed dining at the bar with others.

Now for the food. We both ordered a combo plate of an enchilada and taco with beans and pasole. Excellent and a little spicy. If you don't like spicy, order the chili sauce on the side.

We had the opportunity to eat at other similar restaurants in Santa Fe, and while The Shed was excellent, and we would go back in a heartbeat, if for some reason you can't get in, don't sweat it too much. There are other really good southwestern style restaurants.

“Yum!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 23, 2012

We had lunch at The Shed on our recent trip to Santa Fe and loved it. At trying both red and green chili sauces, we both decided we were green people. We share the shrimp appetizer, the chicken chili stew and the blue corn tacos. All were delicious. The place was packed, the staff very attentive and the food spicy hot and great. We would have gone back again but decided to go to La Choza (sister restaurant) instead and had another outstanding meal there.

“Spicy food, strong margaritas”

Everything I've tried there has been amazing. My favorite is the mushroom soup, definitely try it when you're there! Staff is always friendly, location is great (right off the plaza).
