“A La Mesa in Santa Fe, New Mexico”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 22, 2009

This is an excellent relatively new restaurant in Santa Fe, New Mexico. It is located at 428 Aqua Fria Street in Santa Fe at the corner of Montezuma and Aqua Fria.
The interior has been done very tastefully. Outside dining in an enclosed porch area is also available in warmer weather.
The bar serves wine and beer, with a very nice wine selection.
The food is excellent, the wait staff friendly and accommodating.
Locals are finding their way to this restaurant, so make a reservation or arrive at 5:30 pm when they open or eat at the bar, if you can find a seat.
We visited twice and on both occasions ate at the bar with locals who, in some instances, designated this their new local favorite.
We learned of this place from the hotel manager at the Hilton on the Plaza, where we were staying.
Take note: From the Hilton Hotel on the Plaza you are within steps of the following well reviewed restaurants: Two for Dinner; A La Mesa (we are reviewing); Coyote Cafe; Los Mayas; Thai Cafe; La Boca; the Shed; Torinos at Home; and virtually every other well-reviewed restaurant in Old Santa Fe in this service.
The prices at La Mesa are higher, but the food quality, ambiance, innovation, and service is too.
Try this place first. Then try the others.
