“Beautiful retablos in church. .”
Reviewed May 21, 2013

The craftmanship is truly unbelieveable. Hard to believe that woodwork was hand done centurys ago.
Just a few blocks from plaza.

“Worth seeing.”
Reviewed May 17, 2013

The oldest church in the US, also next to the oldest house in the US, and Mass is still said within its lovely rustic walls every Sunday. A special note must be made about the caretaker of both places we were fortunate enough to meet while there--he could not have been a nicer person, as knowledgeable and articulate as he was humble.

“Closed Day I Went”
Reviewed May 13, 2013

Not only was it closed, but there was no notice of what days and hours it is open. All I could do was walk around the exterior of this small, historic mission church. Me and a half-dozen other would-be visitors who were equally disappointed.

“Worth Seeing the Oldest Functioning Church in USA.”
Reviewed May 11, 2013

It was originally built around 1610; however on two occasions it was destroyed and rebuilt. It is located a short walk from Garrett's Desert Inn on Old Santa Fe Trail just a few blocks from the square.

“Oldest Church in the United States”
Reviewed April 13, 2013

This Spanish Mission church was built in 1610. It has been damaged and repaired over the years but still has the original adobe walls. The heavy buttresses are a reminder that it was once used as a chapel for Spanish Soldiers.
