Owner description: Constructed in 1610 by the Tlaxcalan Indians of Mexico, who came to New Mexico as servants of the Spanish, this is the oldest church still in use in the country.

It was originally built around 1610; however on two occasions it was destroyed and rebuilt. It is located a short walk from Garrett's Desert Inn on Old Santa Fe Trail just a few blocks from the square.

This Spanish Mission church was built in 1610. It has been damaged and repaired over the years but still has the original adobe walls. The heavy buttresses are a reminder that it was once used as a chapel for Spanish Soldiers.

This chapel is the oldest chapel in USA still functioning. It is so quaint and peaceful.a beautiful altar piece and this little adobe church is very historical too. Walk in and light a candle here.. I learned Santa Fe means holy faith, and this chapel will beckon your faith and your heart! Do not miss!

San Miguel is a must for history lovers. Possibly the oldest church in America, it has some interesting archaelogical elements. The staff is particularly helpful. It really helps you get a feel for Spanish colonialism. The oldest house in America is right next door, so it's easy to do both at one time. And don't forget to "ring the bell of San Miguel" so that you'll return to Santa Fe in the future.

Stepping into this quiet sanctuary, it's 400 year history of worship exudes a palpable presence through it's simplicity and beauty. The kind gentleman at the entrance is happy to answer any questions you may have. A sacred, special place.
