A beautiful hiking trail close to town.
About 8 miles away- 30 mins.
Unlike the other trails near town it is a true wilderness trail.
Hyde Park occuoies a spot on the middle of the Santa Fe National Forest.
The trail is about 1.5 mi to the top and 1,000 change n elevation.

Make this drive out of town into the mountains. It is really beautiful.
Check out the hiking trails and see a whole different Santa Fe.

We were looking for a break from Santa Fe and Hyde Memorial Park was it! Within an hour we were sledding in the snow! But stop a sporing goods store to pick up a sled!

We enjoyed traveling into the country a bit, but the roads were narrow and a recent snowfall caused the roadside overlooks to be difficult to navigate. If it had been later in the season or in the fall, I believe the views would have been stunning.

If you like the woods this is your place! Went in the middle of august, slept in a tent it was awesome! I thought I might get sick from the high elevation but, it had no effect on me. The park rangers were very friendly. Would love to come here in the winter!
