“The Beautiful Church at the End of the Trail”
Reviewed November 9, 2012

Lovely unpretentious Cathedral at the end of the Santa Fe Trail. Right on the Plaza. Stop in, light a candle for loved ones, then walk over to The Shed Restaurant on Palacio St for enchiladas.

“Spectaular font”
Reviewed November 9, 2012

It is unusual to have a gothic building in the middle of all the adobe structures in the center of Santa Fe, but it certainly makes the cathedral stand out. For a Catholic church, build during the Spanish occupation, it is very plain (so totally different to the ornate Churches that we have seen in South America). The font, however is spectacular and well worth the visit. Positioned in the center of the main asle it comprises a font and a pool all finished in black marble. The stained glass windows are beautiful, especially when the sun is shining through them. Of particlar beauty is the rose window on the west wall.

“Architectural Majesty”
Reviewed November 6, 2012

Beautiful rose window, as majestic a space as any european cathedral I've seen. I can't help but be amused by the fact that the twin towers were not strong enough to support the massive peaks they were designed to hold so they were left off! Worth a brief visit at least.
