“Fabulous B&B”
Reviewed October 19, 2010

On a return trip to Santa Fe, we chose Casa de la Cuma based on reviews on TA. We were thrilled with our decision. We stayed in the spacious suite and had plenty of room. The bed was so comfortable. Breakfast on the patio was a delight. Each morning, we would have a delicious, relaxed meal, enjoying conversations with Colleen and Shaan and the other guests. Colleen and Shaan were so gracious and helpful with each of our questions. We certainly felt welcome here and will return on our next visit to Santa Fe.

My husband and I just loved staying outside of Santa Fe. We were on the road and downtown in 5 minutes, but at night the sky was dark and the stars could be seen. It was very quite and quite lovely. The garden setting with the pond and beautiful hummingbirds was so lovely I wanted to just stay there and grab a book and not go anywhere. Our hosts were exceptionally nice. I hope some day they will come visit us in Sacramento! We would definetly come back and enjoy it again.

Far enough outside of Santa Fe to be secluded, but close enough to be convenient, with some of the best breakfasts and the most beautiful rooms and garden, Ravens Ridge is wonderful. The food is imaginative, the innkeepers delightful, warm, knowledgeable and friendly. The Starlight room is a dream come true- with a skylight over the amazingly comfortable bed (like sleeping in a warm cloud!), vigas, and lovely southwestern touches everywhere, it's sure to please! Ask about a starwatching tour of the night sky overhead- as good as any planetarium guide, and there's lots to see without any light pollution. Personalized maps with restaurants, galleries, and other points of interest are provided, as well as parking at the main Casa de la Cuma branch in Santa Fe proper, just a few short blocks from the plaza. We booked this as our 10th anniversary trip, and found it to be a very romantic, relaxing, and fun place to stay. An Outstanding Experience I hope to have again soon!!!

My husband and I stayed in both the Raven's Ridge location and downtown location during out recent trip to New Mexico. I loved each spot. Phyllis and Judge at Raven's Ridge are the consummate hosts and felt like friends after just a little while. Although outside the city, I think I preferred the Raven's Ridge location to the city location because of the beautiful gardens where you eat breakfast if weather permits. I was awoken at night by coyotes howling in the distance...a real treat for this city girl. And the trip into Santa Fe was just a short drive. Colleen and Shaan at the in-town location were wonderful hosts as well and had great trip and eating recommendations. You can't go wrong at either location. Just stay at the Casa de la Cuma when in Santa Fe!

Staying at Casa de la Cuma was like visiting a friend or favorite relative. The rooms and beds were comfortable and clean, and the B&B is conveniently located. But the real joy is Colleen and her "staff". Every guest is warmly received, delicious and creative full breakfasts were served on the patio every morning (with the best fresh fruit ever), and we got lots of good travel tips and information. We were the only guests to take Collen up on her suggestion to go to Bandolier National Monument, and it was great; we climbed and crawled through cliff dwellings, and saw large herds of elk in the nearby Caldera. The B&B is in a quiet neighborhood a short walk from downtown. (and after the fabulous meals in Santa Fe restaurants, you'll appreciate the walk!)

I stayed on my own at Case de la Cuma on my first night in Santa Fe, and arriving tired, was greeted very nicely by my hosts. They had also changed my reservation around just a bit, due to some last minutes issues (and this is not their normal policy so I doubt it can happen normally -- but Colleen and Shaan were gracious about it). It was an easy walk to the famous Plaza area, and I enjoyed checking it out again next day after a good night's sleep. I stayed in the Cowboy Room which was quiet, charming and has a nice private front porch with a distant view of the mountains.
Two nights later, I stayed at the Ravens Ridge location (for 1 night) with friends who live in Santa Fe but had a "night off" in staying there in a room near mine. That location, farther out from town, is also lovely. Phyllis and Judge, the hosts at Ravens Ridge , were also friendly but we were largely on our own on their nice property -- which was fine with us; we enjoyed an evening in the hot tub there and really enjoyed both the rooms we stayed in. We chatted with our hosts the next morning at breakfast, very enjoyably. At both locations, breakfast was served in the garden area due to the warm weather ,and both meals were delicious. Casa de la Cuma was a great find!
