We recently stayed at the Silver Saddle for 3 days. It is not your fancy chain motel...but the owners, Penny and Dawn make you feel like family. They are very helpful and friendly. We felt so very comfortable there. The rooms are very clean and cheerfully decorated in a cowboy theme. We stayed in the Wyatt Earp room that has a king bed, tv, microwave, refrigerator, dining table and chairs. Breakfast was very good. They also have a delightful courtyard patio where we loved to have our afternoon tea among the beautiful flowers. We would definitely stay here again.

This is the best motel I've stayed at in USA. Dawn and Miguel are extremely helpful and operate the business with heart and soul. The cowboy decor is their passion and a sense of fun pervades. The genuinely delight in making visitors happy.

My girlfriend and I stayed here for a couple of nights in November, 2011, while on a two month roadtrip around the USA, and we really happy we found it.

The great price and TripAdvisor reviews were what made us book it in the first place, but we were still surprised with the great service we received. The staff were really friendly, offering us tips on where to eat and drink, what to see, and how to get around town. They also offer a decent free breakfast of toast, jams and other spreads, juice, and bagels with cream cheese.

Our room was a decent size, and all rooms have unique style, being named after famous cowboys and western themes, with related paintings and pictures. The entire motel also has a New Mexican look, with adobe beams and kitchy Western items all over the place. It even mentions that it was featured in an old movie.

It's located a fair distance out of the city centre, so you have to catch a bus, but there is a nearby bus stop and it's very easy to get there. It's also right next to Jackalope - the giant Western shopping attraction in Santa Fe.

Even though this place was a little further out, the price was great and the service was even better. We'd definitely stay here again, and recommend it to others.

So, Silver Saddle is not a fancy schmancy motel. It's actually very basic. It's a good spot to sleep, rest, and keep your stuff. There's no pool or fitness center. So....why did I give it a rating of 4? Well, it's because the staff there are so wonderful! Yes, it is also important that it's clean and they cleaned our room everyday. The continental breakfast is basic but in a good way...like you are at home enjoying a simple breakfast. Penny keeps the landscaping looking beautiful and charming. Dawn is a burst of sunshine, full of smiles, suggestions, fun conversation, willingness to make sure your needs are met, and good old fashioned goodness. Miguel is also a fantastic person; kind, full of information and good conversation too. Nancy is wonderful; incredibly helpful, attentive, nice, fun, and very friendly. I would definitely stay there again because they make the Silver Saddle a treasure!
