As a travellers not interesred in high end accomodation, we strive to find those indy owned, character-driven places that offer comfort, cleanliness, and value. Usually, you're lucky to find 2 of those in any one place. The Silver Saddle really exceeded our expectations to the point we readily ended up booking a 2nd night simply b/c it was such a great find. Very, very comfortable bed (and we own a tempurpedic back home, as well as the fact I am 6 mos. pregnant). The room we stayed in was very tastefully decorated and welcoming Americana (not kitsche) and extremely clean. Wish we could find a place this well-run every where we went. Thank you to Ted and the friendly woman at the front desk in the morning for being such great hosts. Would recommend you and your motel to anyone.

This hotel was decent enough for an overnight stay in Santa Fe, but may not have been adequate for anything longer than that.

The motel itself is very neatly done up with lots of interesting trinkets and photographs on Western-styled materials. If you get a chance to meet Ted, the Japanese cowboy, he will only enhance your experience and is very helpful with his intricate knowledge of the town. The continental breakfast was great as well.

On the downside, the air conditioner was extremely noisy and if you are travelling with children, there is nothing much to do at the motel itself, such as a pool.

If you can get a decent rate and don't mind the basics, this hotel is definitely for you.

When looking at a nonchain motel I'm looking for cleanliness, value, and a comfortable bed and this place meets them all. The staff was so friendly and really wanted you to have a nice stay. They provide wifi, nice large tv with HBO, and a simple but fresh continental
breakfast. The room smelled like fresh laundry which is a nice change of stale smoke. The bathrooms are certainly outdated but clean. Right now there is major road construction going on out front, making it a bit of a pain getting in and out, however the room was
quiet. We sleep good and would stay there again.

Stayed at the Silver Saddle while traveling across the nation with my girlfriend. The gentlemen at the desk was very helpful and even showed us a few places in Santa Fe to go eat and have a drink. He was spot on with the recommendation and we ended up getting food and drinks at the CowGirl BBQ in Historic Santa Fe. We plan on making an annual trip and staying at the Silver Saddle every time.

Room Tip: Tough to get to because of construction but every room is worth it.

This is a charming motel. The amenities and building are older, but in good repair. Everything was clean, even the top of the cabinets that being 6'6" could see. We stayed in the Wyatt Earp room. The bed was soft, and too soft for us, but for one night it was ok.
The continental breakfast had actual food, with full size servings of cereal, bagels, muffins, real cream cheese, etc.
Ted was very friendly and took the time to show us the rooms before we had to make a decision.  He also recommended a wonderful local New Mexican restaurant, which reminded me of my college days in Socorro.
Ted gave us the password to the free wifi, rather than waiting for us to ask.  That to me is truly free wifi.
While the construction on Cerrillos can be squirrely, don't let that stop you from going to this motel.
The room and bathroom were not particularly large, compared to modern chains.  But, with Santa Fe to explore, who wants to sit in the hotel anyway?
