Owner description: Canyon Road is Santa Fe's historic arts district. Home to over eighty art galleries, as well as boutiques, restaurants, and historic adobe homes, it is the cultural center of Santa Fe. The galleries on Canyon Road show everything from traditional southwestern Pueblo pottery and quintessential Western art to contemporary abstraction and computer and digital art. Take time to explore; there's a little something for everyone here.

Lots of great artists, from many different disciplines not just Southwest. Modern, sculpture, lots for everyone. We had lunch at the Compound on their patio. Excellent day!

So much amazing art. I just love strolling in and out of galleries, meeting the artists and learning their stories. It is a perfect way to spend an afternoon, a day, a weekend. One of the most special areas anywhere. Something or someone always delights.

It is full of open galleries and some of them are great fun. Don't miss the moving sculptures - they are fantastic.

It's not the easiest climb on a hot day, and I would recommend coming down the lovely shaded street just to the east after you have made the climb.

The gallery owners were all friendly, helpful and not there to hard sell at all.

This is fun place to go if you like to view quality art and sculpture (as are the down town galleries too). The art is pricey, but the gallery staff are friendly and answer your questions. One thing I liked was much of the art is realistic and most of the abstract art was accessible. Enjoy!

Put on you scarf and warms winter gloves, grab your mug of hot cocoa and walk canyon road for Christmas Eve. Folks are singing carols as they gather around open fires that can be found along your stroll. Christmas lights are strung along walkways and offer accent lighting to the beautiful Santa Fe architecture. Last year there was a beautiful snowfall as we enjoyed the evening…
Make sure to dress warm!
