If you are looking for something a bit unique this is the place. The hotel is beautifully furnished and exceptionally clean. The room was small, but we were only there for one night and we spent most of our time walking the plaza and enjoying the city. It was wonderful to return to a quaint room with one of the most comfortable beds we've ever had in a hotel. We will definitely return.

Before booking our trip, we read the reviews on TA and we expecting a small room. Small is an understatement! I have stayed in Midtown Manhattan at a boutique hotel and had a room twice as big. After placing the two suitcases on the floor, my wife and I had to take turns walking around the room b/c it was too small. Bathroom, forget it. If I was overweight I would not be able to fit in the shower (with no light btw). As we checked out after our first night, the housekeeper even commented that the hotel had gone down hill after the renovation. Oh, forgot to mention how uncomfortable the bed was. Traditional queen room was the size of my bathroom at home. Lobby was increadible, too bad the rooms are not. Breakfast was nice, killer Christmas style breakfast burrito. On the plus side, the front desk staff was very helpful and helped us check out after our first night. Walked over to Hilton and got a nicer room for a lot less!

Thank you for sharing your experience. Our goal is to always portray the product best to clients looking to stay with our hotel. Although there are many different rooms types in our inventory all of the rooms share the same common design of the room. Same quality bed, frette linen, same quality furniture by local artisans from Santa Fe, and currently. Each room has the enjoyment of tranquility. Hotel St Francis is an historic hotel in which rooms were originally built small. In fact, this particular room type (the queen) was sold in the 1920 with the option of purchase without a bathroom. At the end of the hallway, there was community bathroom that was available to all guests. In time, bathrooms were installed into each sleeping room and this took away some of the space. The hotel has rooms with more items in the room; please keep this mind while shopping this hotel. Our staff will be more than glad to provide more information to you. This queen room is our most basic room type, where guest may chose the ambiance and cost is more important than the size room.

Being a single traveler, I'm used to small rooms, especially in Europe, but the cubicle-sized room at the St. Francis tops my list of "too much for too little." For starters, the only place to sit was in the bathroom. Yup, no chairs in the sleeping room. And no place to put much of anything: something the hotel management has already figured out since all their promotional material and local guidebooks, usually left on a desk or table, were tucked away in the bottom of the two drawers in the built-in amoir. Sure, there was a sink, mounted on a 2-foot square wash stand a few feet from the bed, but no place to put any toiletries. All-in-all, this is a hotel best experienced from a passing car.

We are thankful for the guest to have experience of traveling to Europe. It is common that this hotel receives parallel comparison to that region. In fact, the linage of Santa Fe's history goes back to Europe. The placement of guidebooks and promotional material are deliberately placed in the drawers. It is our goal to display the room with the most simplistic and attractive look. We chose to have those items available but not allow them to take away from the beauty of the room. The room is a queen and is a small room. We encourage guest to look at booking rooms designated with "deluxe" in our description. These rooms, generally, have more options, space, and amenities. The queen is a basic room and is available for those looking for simplicity. The photo in our listing is a queen room.

My husband and I had our small wedding at the hotel on June 29th. We had family who also stayed at the hotel. I can't say enough good things about this beautiful hotel and the wonderful staff who took care of our every need, from orchastrating the details to leaving champagne and other goodies as a surprise in our room the night of the wedding. The food was divine, the setting beautiful and we really enjoyed sitting outside watching the world go by as we enjoyed drinks on the patio. Very romantic and elegant. and perfect for our needs.

We happened upon the St. Francis for their Sunday brunch and were astounded to be served both bountiful and delicious food while dining almost all by ourselves. We had a wonderful window table in the historic dining room so we could watch the hoards of people standing in line across the street awaiting even a seat, while we were served our great food by an attentive and professional staff. By the time we finished, we were laughing because some of the people we had first seem were still waiting to go inside the other restaurant. The St. Francis is such a classy setting and offers a wide range of food at very reasonable prices, so we really believe we hit the jackpot that Sunday!
