“The only place we stay when in Santa Fe”
Reviewed March 21, 2013

My better half and I stay at Vanessie's every time we can while in Santa Fe. The rooms are comfortable with great beds, lovely seating options and either a. fireplace or gas stove. Upgraded linens and towels with great toiletries just make this a wonderful place to stay! We have stayed in four different rooms and we like #1 and #3 the best!

In the morning there is a nice continental breakfast with their own granola...Yum! There restaurant is on site with great food at night.

The service is what sets the Inn at Vanessie apart. From the moment we arrived until we felt like guests of management and staff. The handled every request we had and were quick with recommendations on dining, art galleries and other activities around town.

The rooms are nicely decorated in old Santa Fe style and very clean. We stayed in the Galisteo room which had a beautiful four poster king size bed, traditional kiva fireplace, and peaceful patio with our own small fountain.

The plaza is a five block walk with the galleries on Canyon Road another four or five blocks beyond that. That was not a problem for my wife and I but guests should be aware of the location.

The onsite restaurant serves a simple breakfast that is included in the room rate and has a great dinner menu. The lounge has interesting live entertainment on the weekends.

You can walk to the plaza and window shop the entire way! My room was huge and very well appointed. It was warm and I didn't use the fireplace, but a fire was laid and there was a lot of wood. Breakfast was simple but nice, and my local friends were invited to join me for free. I'm looking forward to coming back in October for a respite after crewing at the Balloon Fiesta on Albuquerque!

Walking distance to the plaza. Great service, nice breakfast and your local friends can join you for free. My room was quite large and had a fireplace. The fire was laid and although I didn't use it, it was a lovely, cozy touch. I'm staying here again in October.

Stayed during ski trip Mar 6-10 2013
Room prepaid
Is promoted as boutique hotel which there is no traditional front desk -reception and no room service-was able to get a call back from given phone number
Rooms were beautiful and uniquely decorated-the pecos room had one king but had no dresser drawers to put clothes in and a very small closet-shower unique.
Complained about small room and manager promptly moved us to the cheyenne room which had 2 kings ,large closet with 2 bathrooms each with a shower(nice)-hot tub acceptable but not well maintained-complimentary continental breakfast excellent!
If you stay-request cheyenne room or similar-would stay again

This is not a four or five star hotel... but the location is great, walking distance to the center of town, plenty of free parking, and a staff that is willing to go out of their way to make sure you are taken care of... and that includes your canine companion. We stayed four nights and the first night there was only one room left by the time we checked in. Room 5 is comfortable but it is on the ground floor facing the parking lot... feeling more like a motel. The saving grace was a very comfortable bed and quality bedding... and the fireplace was nice too.
Our next three nights were spent upstairs in room 7... a really great room... spacious, light and again, a quality bed. For the price, with the amenities, including breakfast, this is a great choice.

Room Tip: Avoid 5, do whatever you have to to get 7! If not 7, ay least try and get one upstairs.

We have been guests at the Inn at least once a year for the pst seven years.
It is one of our favorite places to stay.
The location is absolutely perfect, close to the square as wellasgreat resturants not to mention the piano bar right next door. The suite is so well done with fireplaces and an outdoor area.
Most importantly, the people who work there are so lovely and welcoming. They always make our stay special.
Also,if you stay there consider eating at Dinner For Two.it is fantastic.
