“Clean,Good Rates.”
Reviewed November 16, 2008

Stayed here for two nights in October. The room was clean(with a couple of nice southwest touches),the continential breakfast good(not a big variety, though),and good rates for Santa Fe ($53 a night).About a 15 minute drive to the Plaza(way too far to walk).

Stayed two nights here and we were pleasantly surprised by the quality given the budget price. Easy to find and really close to centre of Santa Fe for shopping and sightseeing. Lobby clean and nicely decorated and staff welcoming even though we were early for check in - no delay or hassle. Room very clean and comfortable, liked the petroglyph light fitting in the bathroom! Also had safe in room that other hotels of similar budget hadn't had. Buffet breakfast served in the lobby , nice selection. Really enjoyed our stay, highly recommended, as is Santa Fe itself.

I've stayed at this place a couple times, in winter & in summer, & both went well. The rates go up slightly for the summer season when there is more of an influx of travelers through town, as is probably the case with many hotels & motels here. The staff was kind, & the late evening or night person even made an exception for me & let me check into a room, despite only having cash & not having a credit card. However, I wouldn't expect them to always make such exceptions, so if one plans to stay here, have a credit card, it's part of their policy, as it is part of the policy of several hotels & motels here in the U.S.A. these days. The room was clean. There was some, but not a whole lot of noise in the hall at night. I felt safe there. It's a long way from downtown, but it is conveniently located on Cerrillos Road which means that there is bus that goes by every 15 minutes for most business hours during the day, & it is just $1 for a one-way fare, or $2 for an all day pass.

It's a perfectly decent hotel..inexpensive and more than adequate for our overnight stay. The room is large but slightly dated. There is even a complementary breakfast though we didn't try it. I would recommend the place if you are looking for value and have a car.

This was the second time I stayed in this motel. We stayed for two days during our anniversary which were the exact same dates as last year. However, there were some things that were not up to par. The ice machine was broken for the two days we were there. Some things that the clerk said led me to believe that the owners have been having problems with this machine for a while. I had to climb a small step stool and scoop ice into mybucket with a tall cup. The cover was open the entire time. If I was squeamish about bacteria, this could have sent me into a tizzy. Alas, without a fridge in the room, this seemed to be the only way to keep my champagne cold. There is a microwave in the lobby which was kept clean.

Another thing that didn't work was the internet. There were three different networks and whenever one went out, I had to switch to a different one. Not one network would work for more than a couple of minutes. It was all a real pain in the rear. If you depend on steady internet access while you're away, this hotel isn't the place. I had a Nintendo DS with the browser and that seemed to work fine. However, I would have much rather used my computer.

Continental breakfast is good. Two types of cereal (both sweet), instant oatmeal packets, oranges and apples, white and wheat toast, coffee, juice, biscuits, and mini muffins. A rather nice assortment if you ask me. Only thing is it's in a tight area so I often felt cramped and like I was in some ones way. The coffee and juice machines work around the clock.

The rooms are clean and the staff is friendly and attentive. Several restaurants are by. There's even a chinese restaurant called Bamboo that will deliver here.

I liked my stay and I would stay here again. Except next time, I'm going to ask them if they fixed their internet yet!

  • Liked — Clean room. Nice continental breakfast. Comfortable bed and recliner. Easy to use, free safe in the room!
  • Disliked — Horribly unstable internet access and a broken ice machine.

We found this hotel to be clean, comfortable, and the staff friendly. Our only complaint was that we could easily hear conversations in the hallways and some of the guests did not tend to be considerate of that fact. Naturally, this cannot be held against the hotel. We had people talking on their cell phones at 3:30 a.m., partiers coming in after midnight and talking loudly in the hallway, and guests checking in/out and slamming doors as they brought luggage in or took it out. I just wish others could consider their fellow guests.

The hotel, however, was clean and a good valuable. It was convenient to restaurants and to the ski mountain. It was also convenient to the downtown area. All in all, except for rude guests, our visit was pleasant.

We flew from Ft. Lauderdale to Albuquerqee for a three-night stay at the Super 8 in Santa Fe in late October 2007. I booked this place based on generally favorable reviews on this site and others. No regrets, for $50 a night you can't beat it. The room was modest-sized and clean, beds were comfortable. Cable reception/quality was adequate at best, but who goes to Santa Fe to watch TV? The Santa Fe Plaza is 10 minutes away at most, just head north on Cerrillos and you'll drive straight into it. Cerrillos itself is a drab commercial strip of the kind ubiquitous to almost all American cities, but certainly safe and convenient enough to everywhere you'd want to go in Santa Fe; what you'll save staying here you can spend on great Mexican food and margaritas. If you're coming from Albuquerqee, skip the main road and take the Turquoise Trail north, it's longer but far more scenic and the road (Route 14?) actually becomes Cerrillos Rd. The hotel has a free but very limited breakfast starting at 6; my advice is skip the food, grab a cup of cofee to go, and join the Santa Fe locals for the real deal at Cafe Pasqual's or Tia Sophia, both of which are in the Plaza area and serve outstanding breakfasts. Go early to avoid the line.

  • Liked — Cheap and clean.
  • Disliked — Distance from downtown; surrounding area.
