Santa Fe Motel & Inn
Ranked #10 of 60 Hotels in Santa Fe
Certificate of Excellence
Reviewed July 15, 2013

This is a traditional type motel really close to the Plaza and centre of Santa Fe. There are also some casitas which looked very nice. We stayed for three nights 19-21 June and really enjoyed our stay. The staff are excellent, so friendly and helpful, and nothing is too much trouble for them and they make you feel really welcome.

There are several places to sit out in the pleasant grounds and there is free parking. We had a second floor room which was very pleasant. It had a large bathroom area but, given the extreme heat whilst we were there, a kitchenette with a fridge may have been a better choice!

We were also very impressed with the free breakfast which is served in a lovely courtyard. The range and quality of the food is quite exceptional and the lady in charge is delightful and keeps everything well topped up, fresh and inviting and all with such good humour.

There are several good restaurants just minutes from the door. We particularly liked 'Cowgirls' where we enjoyed the food, service, live band and dancing on the outside terrace.

I recommend this motel, it is a very good place to stay if you want to be close to all the action without paying the earth.

Being a small property with 23 rooms, our staff is able to provide guests friendly and personal concierge services. As you noticed the staff takes its time to help you whether that be an itinerary for the day or a restaurant recommendation. You also mentioned our casitas which are historically constructed with adobe walls and vigas. Most of the casitas have a gated private patio with table and chairs. Maybe you'll consider booking a casita on your next visit to Santa Fe

I stayed here as part of a group attending a wedding. The staff could not have been more helpful, even lending a wheelchair to allow an older guest to accompany her family on a shopping trip to the Plaza. The rooms were clean, with nice personal touches. It is an old fashioned motel layout, which was perfect for us as you could sit outside your door waiting for others in your party to arrive. While it might not be modern enough for some, I found it to be perfect for my needs and a good value in high priced Santa Fe.

Thank you for recognizing the oustanding value that the Santa Fe Motel & Inn provides, especially when you consider it's perfect location and highly regarded complimentary full hot breakfast. We take pride in our southwestern furnishings and decor. It extends from the room you enjoyed so much to the more private casitas and even shows up at breakfast by way of the green chile. We look forward to seeing you again on your next visit to Santa Fe.

We were on the way to Pagosa springs and decided to spend the night in Santa Fe. We pulled in to Santa Fe with no reservation and got the last room. It was a Casita. One room with bath. Refrigerator in the closet! Nice private patio outside With table and chairs. Breakfast included. Five minute walk to Plaza. Friendly and helpful employees.

Great place great rooms good location adequate breakfast friendly and helpful staff. Get a bus pass and you can travel in and out of Santa Fe for very little. Pass can be obtained from the driver, and if you are retired the fare is a dollar! Last bus home 2125.

Room Tip: There are many rates based on size of room you want we chose a mid range room which was perfect.

It was a pleasure having you and your pup stay at the Santa Fe Motel & Inn. You certainly seem to enjoy Santa Fe and the surrounding areas. Also thank you for acknowledging our breakfast as we take pride in providing healthy food options for our guests whether that be the organic oatmeal, the fresh fruits, the yogurt, the almond milk or the gluten free bread and cereal. While you were here we discussed your next visit to Santa Fe this year and just to let you know, we will be looking forward to your staying with us.

If you want to be within walking distance of the Plaza, I highly recommend this inn -- the rooms are beautiful, the staff friendly, they really care for the landscaping, and you get an amazing breakfast (when my husband and I were there the practice was to put your name down for your breakfast time the next morning so your eggs would be freshly scrambled). It's just a few blocks from the Railyard with Tomasita's, an outlet of the Second St. Brewery, and the farmers market on Saturdays, so there's a lot to do even close by.

We really felt like this was our "home away from home" while we were there, particularly when we booked a kitchenette. Oh yes, and if you are taking the train to Santa Fe via Lamy, you will *really* appreciate the yoga mat in every room!

Room Tip: I would recommend trying for a 2nd floor room; not only is there less traffic, but the Moroccan lamp...
