My husband and I have stayed here numerous times and have always been happy with the hotel and the service. The rooms are big and nice, it's very quiet, the beds are comfortable... On this particular trip in October we were especially impressed with David Lalah, who checked us in. We arrived in the late evening and we asked about places to eat late at night. He provided great information, was personable, helpful, and certainly an excellent representative of the hotel and the city. We'll be back!

We stay at the Plaza Real all the time because of the great staff, service, location and overall attitude and ambiance. We are always welcomed back and made to feel comfortable on our return visits with the recognition of our continued stays at the hotel. Any requests that we might have are accomodated promptly and courteously. The rooms are comfortable in size with the additional living area that includes a bar with refrigerator, microwave, sofa, desk, fireplace, etc. The underground parking is particularly important to us and contributes to our level of comfort and security.

We have been coming to the Plaza Real since 1985 and have stayed multiple times a year, particularly over the last 4 years, and, therefore have seen changes over time. We understand that the hotel is anticipating improvements to be made in 2008. We would recommend that improvements to the bedroom/bath area be strongly considered as this is where the most 'wear and tear' takes place. New sheets/towels/pillows(down quality) and curtains would greatly enhance the comfort level in the rooms.

We continue to return because of the overall experience but would love to 1) ourselves enjoy the needed re-fresh enhancements as well as to 2) tell our friends of the improvements made, which is a big draw for new visitors to try the hotel.

This was our third trip to Santa Fe in three years and the second time we stayed at the Plaza Real. We like to stay at the Plaza because of there comfortable beds, location and dog friendly attitude.
On this trip we stayed longer than usual and the staff did a great job of making us feel at home. The Front Desk Manager (sorry I can’t remember his name) was great at giving us directions and accommodating our requests and although the bar was only open one night; the bartender Matt was very courteous and quite knowledgeable.
The real kudos goes to the room attendants! We went skiing almost every day we were at in Santa Fe and shamefully we left the rooms a near disaster and quite dirty every day. However, every night when we returned from the slopes; the rooms were in impeccable condition.

Reasonable price for the location. I have stayed in many of the hotels on the plaza. You will pay a high price for in hotel dining and name....but here you have a nice place and great location. The VERY few reviews I have read that expressed any dislikes appeared to not be familiar with Santa Fe. Santa Fe is expensive. If you want to be in the Plaza area...it is very expensive. I consider this place a gem in that is is cozy, great atmosphere and nice people. We will definitely stay here again. If you are concerned about price but want nice and in the Plaza area this should meet your needs.

Great location but staff was not very helpful in accomodating room types. Needed a double bed but could not get one. Friends staying there same time wanted a King Bed but received a double bed. You have to get a new room key EVERY day because the locks reset. Other than this it is a great place to stay.

Although I had both a voicemail on my mobile phone in my hand and an email confirming a room rate of $90, the evening front desk manager refused to honor the reservation rate. It was a mistake,by a new employee he said, and therefore, he didn't have to honor the rate. He said, "You can pay the $165 now or leave the hotel." Then he left me to fend for myself on a Saturday evening at 7 p.m., when downtown Santa Fe was completely booked. It took me another 90 minutes to find a hotel a little farther away. I was shocked that with the evidence in my hand, the manager wouldn't stand honor the Sterling reservation website located at: [--]

Please do not subject yourself to treatment such as this when there are great hotels nearby: i.e., the Inn of the Governors.
