Inn on the Alameda
Ranked #2 of 60 Hotels in Santa Fe
Certificate of Excellence

Our stay at the INN ON THE ALAMEDA was absolutely wonderful! Some of the highlights: A friendly, engaging and very knowledgable front desk staff; a complementary "wine and cheese (and more)" daily late-afternoon reception; a "to die for" breakfast of fresh fruits, pastries, filled-croissants and other delights; and then our two-room suite, complete with fireplace, wet bar, king-sized bed and front and rear patios. While a bit pricey, if you are seeking an elegant, yet relaxed Santa Fe lodging destination the INN ON THE ALAMEDA can not be beat. It would receive our highest rating.

We had been told to stay in more centrally located hotels. But when I phoned to make reservations, they were not as friendly or as helpful as the Inn on the Alameda, so we decided that friendliness and the charm of a smaller Inn was more important. What a surprise! When we arrived for a 3 night stay, we found the location to be perfect - one block from Canyon Road with its art galleries and 3 blocks from the Plaza (an easy walk even on very cold days). The room was lovely with a Kiva fireplace, the King Bed was the most comfortable I've found in any hotel, and the staff was incredibly helpful and friendly. We took all their suggestions for dinners and believe we had the finest meals in Santa Fe. The Inn's breakfast was a perfect way to start the day, and their wine/cheese reception in the late afternoons was a perfect respite after full days of gallery visits and sightseeing. We will return to Santa Fe and will always stay at the Inn on the Alameda!

Made a spontaneous trip to Santa Fe and wanted to stay somewhere different - had already tried a big hotel and a small b&b. Inn on the Alameda is the best of both worlds - large enough to have the necessary resources and small enough for the service to be intimate. The front desk people were so helpful - from making dinner reservations to letting us know where to stop for cheap gas on the way back to the airport. We met some delightful guests while sharing complimentary wine around the kiva fireplace. We had never visited SF during the winter - Canyon Road was empty and there were no children anywhere - it was heaven!

Staff very helpful in setting up reservation and giving us general Santa Fe information as well as restaurant recommendations. Upon arrival, hotel staff was very friendly and went over our restaurant reservations that they had made at my request. They gave us a map with every location mapped out. The room (142) was just what I expected (because of reading what others had said on TripAdvisor.com). The living room in our suite was ample for us to visit with friends and enjoy the Kiva fireplace (wood outside the door). There were two televisions (one in the LR and one in the BR). The door that separated the two rooms was very sound insulating. Important if one is an early riser or if you make use of the sleeper sofa for children. The king bed was triple sheeted with excellent quality sheets and blanket. The bed was very comfortable to sleep on and both down and foam pillows provided. The bath room was adequate but not exceptionally large. It was divided into two rooms. The first room had a sink and toilet and the second, the bath tub. There was an entrance on each end of the two rooms that connected. There was a wet bar with a small refrigerator. The inn is spread out as they have added on through the years. It is an easy walk (two minutes) to the main lobby where you find a scrumptious breakfast each morning. There are numerous cereals, muffins and pastries, quieshes, fresh squeezed orange juice and other juices and great coffee and teas. I've never seen this elaborate of a continental breakfast anywhere I have traveled. It it served buffet style. There is also a small room nearby with a computer for checking e-mail or browsing the internet. The location is an easy 5-10 minute walk to the plaza square and Canyon Road is a block away. The location could not be better. We would definitely stay here again.

My husband and I stayed here for our anniversary. When I booked the reservation, I did not indicate that it was a special occasion. When we checked in, I asked if we could get an up-grade because it was our anniversary. They could not have been more helpful. They up-graded our room and we had a great stay. The breakfast was DELICIOUS!!!! The wine and cheese reception was very nice. The location is great - easy walking to Canyon Rd. and the historic Plaza. The hotel has a warm, welcoming feel. We will definitely return.

We stayed for 3 nights to celebrate our 30th Anniv. We stayed in room #136 which was incredible. Very private front courtyard with table and 2 chairs. Our room was designed with a separate sitting room with TV. Next you enter the huge bedroom (king bed, Kiva fireplace, TV and tons of closet space. The bathroom had a double vanity, 2 person jaccuzzi tub with plush towels and cozy robes. The bathroom amenities were all top shelf. It only gets better. Public spaces were comfortable and inviting. The front desk was staffed with very professional and infomative people. The breakfasts were excellent, both big and small, and our appetites were taken care of. At 4 the wine and cheese reception was a great respite from a day of exploring. The Inn is imho in the best location. The car was rarely used. To sum it up this is THE place to stay in Santa Fe.
