This was our first visit to this hotel. We have stayed previously in Santa Fe at the hotel on the plaza. We were very impressed with the level of hospitality and personal service that we received at the Inn on the Alameda. It is a quiet retreat away from the bustle of the plaza, but not too far to walk there. It is only a block away from Canyon Road and about 5 min. away from Kakawa chocolates-yum!. All of the employees we had contact with were friendly and helpful. Charlie and Jose especially stood out. I was very impressed with how management handled a situation we had with a ride back to the hotel. We walked to a restaurant one evening and when leaving decided to call the hotel for the shuttle to pick us up as it was late and no one was out walking. We called the hotel and spoke to a new employee (her first night) and she told us she would send the shuttle right away and hung up. The shuttle never showed up but the girl at the hotel had called a taxi for us. Apparently the shuttle was not available and she didn't realize this. We were grateful for the taxi ride but payed the taxi over 7 dollars for the short ride. After speaking to the manager, she reimbursed us for the taxi and was very nice about it and was just glad we got back to the hotel safely. One of the best things about the Inn is the free breakfast! The breakfast included a variety of hot items like eggs, turkey sausage, ham, potatoes, croissants, and red and green chili. The wine and cheese reception at 4 p.m. was a great way to get energized for the rest of the evening. Ask for the Sangria! We looked forward to this everyday. Another bonus, parking is free! I have paid $35 a night at a hotel in the plaza area. The room was nice (a standard room with 2 Queen beds) with a balcony and 2 chairs and a table to relax outside. The sheets were soft and comfortable and the only thing we missed was a small refrigerator in the room and a few water bottles would have been nice. The grounds are beautiful, and I can imagine how pretty they must be in the summer! We will definitely be back to find out!More
