“Lovely getaway worthy of a return visit”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 6, 2013

The best part of our one night at the Inn on the Alameda was the incredible breakfast, which could be renamed brunch, because we only ate one more meal that day at 2:45pm. Potato Frittata, burritos with and without bacon, bagels, delicious local New Mexican style baked goods, fresh fruit! Coffee was great in a big colorful mug. The wine and cheese reception ( try the homemade Sangria!) at check-in from 4-5pm was our second favorite feature, with the staff's hospitality to match- it is rare to find a staff concerned about returning guests. The friendly reception was a great start. Inn on the Alameda is definitely walking distance to the historic downtown and at the foot of the Canyon Road gallery mile, but this is not dead center of town and requires a walk, but beautiful it is, and after the food, everyone needs a walk. The standard room is not spacious, but clean and well-appointed, high quality hotel linens, mattress, pillows, towels, all very pleasant, we adjusted. Two hot tubs on premises, but August temps made this not attractive, perhaps in winter or the swing season. Not sure if the high room tariff is completely justified, but as a splurge to stay in the beautiful downtown and not on the commercial outskirts, Inn on the Alameda was a delightful getaway.

Room Tip: Second building has no hot tub, must walk to another building first, further discouraging use.

We enjoyed our stay at this hotel. We booked 2 rooms as my brother and his wife were traveling with us. The rooms were satisfactory, a little pricey. The staff were very accommodating, we enjoyed the wine and cheese hour -Charlie's sangria was delicious. Had a nice massage and enjoyed the hot tub. Hotel provided a keurig but would have liked to have been able to have a tea kettle, hair conditioner would also have been nice -all in all a convenient location and a enjoyable stay.

We stayed 4 nights at the Inn with a comfortable room, small patio and garden. The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. Location is within walking distance of many galleries and restaurants and the Inn has a shuttle to take and pick up guests visiting further sites. Breakfast and afternoon wine tasting were delightful. Many kudos to the staff, including the gardeners.

Room Tip: The ground floor rooms with private patios are exceptionally nice.

We spent three lovely nights in Santa Fe at the Inn on the Alameda!! It was convenient to everything, especially Canyon Road. We love the wine and cheese in the afternoons and the breakfasts were plentiful and extremely good. The room was really pleasant and very comfortable even with the high temperatures outside. A lovely place to stay!!

We stayed here three nights and really enjoyed our stay. We stayed in a casita which made it even better. Location is very good within short walking distance of many attractions and restaurants. The breakfast is quite nice and the afternoon appetizers and wine is special.

I've been to Santa Fe many times, but this was the first time I stayed at this beautiful inn. My friend and I were there for 5 nights and wish we could have stayed another 5. The location is perfect, across from a greenbelt with a walking/jogging path, and a short 3-block walk to the Plaza. Our room #216 ("traditional" with 2 queens) was very comfortable, with a door opening onto a small balcony. I was concerned that we'd have street noise, as we overlooked Alameda St., but the traffic disappeared in the evening and we left the door ajar for fresh air every night.

The staff was supremely accommodating, from the bartender who extended free happy hour wine and cheese to us on more than one occasion when we arrived late, to Dustin, the friendly hotel shuttle driver who was always eager to take us to and from restaurants in town when it was raining or we just didn't feel like walking. To bypass the crowds waiting for shuttles going to the International Folk Art Market, he drove us right to the entrance. Dustin is also very knowledgeable about Santa Fe, and was a delight to talk with.

We enjoyed a very nice hot breakfast every morning at the inn, and one night took advantage of the inn's delicious panini and salad menu, which is served late into the evening. Truly a delightful stay!

Room Tip: The inn has a variety of rooms in several buildings, and we were told that repeat guests often will...
