This is the first visit to Inn on the Alameda although I've stayed in Santa Fe dozens of times. It's location is really convenient to the Plaza, but it's the service and the relaxed atmosphere which really made this visit stellar. From the included breakfast, wine reception, and advice on where to visit or eat, this has become my favorite place to stay in Santa Fe.

This was my first visit to Santa Fe and the Inn on the Alameda extended a warm welcome. The staff were extremely accommodating , the location walking distance to major sites and the galleries on Canyon Road. We loved returning to our casita and kindling a fire in the wood burning fireplace. The property offers good valule and includes complimentary parking, a yummy breakfast and a 4 pm happy hour.

Room Tip: The casitas have wood burning fireplaces .

Our stay at the Inn was a treat. We enjoyed a comfortable and private casita. The private porch was lovely for enjoying morning coffee. The kiva fireplace was the perfect way to end our day. The staff was responsive and knowledgeable. Breakfast was consistently tasty. I particularly enjoyed dining al fresco in the crisp Santa Fe mornings.
The Inn's location was perfect - easy stroll to Canyon Road and the Plaza. It is also on the bus line making trips to the museums and other destinations a breeze. Being so central kept the Santa Fe enchantment alive the entire trip.
Again, a casita with a kiva is well worth it. It really does enhance your stay.

Room Tip: Some rooms are near busy streets. The traffic is typical weekday/work hours, but if you like sleeping in or are a light sleeper, you might ask to be away. We were not disturbed by the noise during our stay.

I moved away from Santa Fe about 10 years ago, and this was my first trip back to "the city different." The folks at the Inn on the Alameda went out of their way to make our stay very special, as they seemed to do for everyone. I have rarely stayed at a hotel where the staff is so friendly, accommodating, and helpful. We were very happy with our choice, although they did not provide complimentary mini-shampoos, etc., so we had to take a trip to the store. They have a nice wine and cheese happy hour, and also a nice healthy breakfast with quiches, fruit smoothies, fresh fruit, and amazing scones. Note that there is no swimming pool, and no restaurant on site, so plan accordingly. However, there are hundreds of award-winning restaurants within walking distance.

Room Tip: Choose a room with a kiva fireplace - it is worth it.

Dear Peter,

Thank you so very much for your kind words regarding our top shelf staff – they take great pride in hearing such complimentary reviews. We are so glad your stay with us was enjoyable.

A brief note regarding the apparent absence of any toiletries; that can only be an entirely inexcusable oversight on our part, as our housekeeping staff is normally quite meticulous about refreshing all the complimentary supplied shampoos, soaps, conditioner and body wash which we offer each and every day. For this, I can only apologize sincerely and assure you that this will not occur again. I would be more than happy to reimburse you for any shampoo etc, that you may have purchased as a result of our oversight.

I am happy to report that the final touches are now being completed on our new kitchen and menu for the Agoyo Lounge. On your next visit, we will be able to offer you an upscale bar menu along with accompanying new wine list. While not considered a full scale “restaurant”, it will be ideal for those looking for a light meal, great glass of wine, perhaps in between a night dining at one of Santa Fe’s numerous exceptional restaurants.

We certainly look forward to your return,

Jonathan Wise
General Manager

This was our second visit to Santa Fe and our second stay at the Inn on the Alameda, which ought to tell you how much we liked it the first time around. The only downside this time was that the dining area was closed for renovation and the lobby and bar areas were used instead. The upside of it all was that the lobby is really comfortable, especially with the fireplace going...and the breakfasts were available until 11 a.m. We never felt like we had to get up early and get there before breakfast closed up.
And the breakfasts were certainly ample and delicious. Two different quiches, a fritatta and various stuffed croisants. Plus fruit, cereals, etc. Add in the afternoon wine and cheese hour and the deal gets even better.
Our traditional room was small, but well furnished and comfortable. We were on the third floor, so we had the added features of skylights and the dark wood ceiling and a bit of a view of the city.
As before, the staff was very pleasant and helpful. We had one small problem in the room and by the time we got back that afternoon it was already fixed. Considering the service, location and amenities, the room rate is one of the best options in Santa Fe.

Room Tip: If you're going with a traditional room, try and get one on the third floor. Just be prepared for the hike up the stairs...especially until you adjust to the altitude.
