We spent two nights on a get-away in Santa Fe with our older medium-sized dog. The Jr. suite worked well for us -- very quiet, easy in and out with our pet, and comfortable although not a lot of extra space. The service on site was generally excellent including a local shuttle service. Also quite accommodating for pets ($20 per pet per night). In addition, I appreciated the reservation rep who worked with me to get a decent rate. My only service complaint was that the management wouldn't honor a $20 food credit which I believed was part of the package I had agreed to when I made the reservation. At check-in, someone on the phone with the staff person at the front desk (a manager presumably) said I would have to pay an increased room rate to get a food credit. We passed on that, but felt a little disappointed with how the issue was handled. A few other recommendations to the management: if you keep the resort fee ($18 per day), include the continental breakfast as one of the perks along with the complimentary coffee/tea service. Also, the mini-bars are a bit annoying. We would much prefer a straight mini-fridge. Still a great location and nice facilities including a pleasant fitness room and a well-maintained outdoor pool and hot tub.

We stayed 3 nights at the santa fe wing of the hotel and our friends stayed at the hacienda wing. We agreed that the hacienda wing was nicer (more new and more beautifully decorated) but we did enjoy our room as well especially as we got a great rate and were upgrade to the suite. room was very clean and quiet (perfect for those who are sleep deprived). staff was very nice and helpful. we needed some help from the business center and it was taken care of immediately. we just wish hotel's dinning area wouldn't close so early (10 pm). they did accommodate us with their 24/7 room service menu at the restaurant (very nice of them). food was very good. however options were very limited.
every morning, they had complimentary coffee/tea service at each level. that was a very nice touch.

We tend to be “early to bed” in Santa Fe and very few establishments in town are open after 10:00pm.

Otherwise, we appreciate your gracious comments and many thanks for staying with us!

I could go on all day about our stay at this hotel. We spent 7 nights in the Hotel Santa Fe, The Hacienda and Spa. The staff was courteous and helpful. The room was clean and modern. Loved the shower. We were on the ground floor, yet were not disturbed at night by noise. All the doors are set to close slowly so that they don't slam and make noise. The hotel is only six blocks from the plaza, which was a nice walk when the weather was pleasant. If you did not feel like walking, the hotel provides a free shuttle service to destinations within a mile of downtown. The butlers and house keepers were friendly and helpful. I liked how the butlers would call area restaurants and make reservations. The front desk personnel were also friendly and extremely helpful. We went hiking most days, and would stop at the desk for bottled water, which was provided at no charge. The hotel restaurant served excellent food. Compared to most hotel restaurants I thought the menu prices were quite reasonable. We used the hot tub every night, and never found it crowded. The Hotel Santa Fe, The Hacienda and Spa may not be the ritziest hotel in Santa Fe, but you get more than your money's worth. The continental breakfast each morning was excellent. Lots of fresh fruit. The view from the patio was spectacular. Every evening the hotel served complimentary wine and hors d'oeuvre to get you thru until you went to dinner. Or if you wanted, you could fill up, and save the cost of a meal. Like I said, I could go on all day about our stay. If you are visiting Santa Fe and want to keep your expenses down, The Hotel Santa Fe, The Hacienda and Spa is an excellent place to stay.

Room Tip: If you can, try to book one of the upper room floors. They have a balcony.

We stayed four nights at the Hotel Santa Fe with two nights in different rooms. In both cases, it was an enjoyable and comfortable stay. The staff was consistently courteous, friendly and helpful. The food in the restaurant was better than I usually expect in a hotel restaurant. The Hotel is pure Santa Fe right down to the piped in Native American flute music in the lobby and an inflated price for what you get. If this is your first time Santa Fe experience, I am sure that you will love the atmosphere. If you have been to the adobe Disneyland many times, it may seem a bit generic and trite, especially the tepee in the courtyard. Both our rooms were spacious, well furnished, with comfortable beds and small balconies. Both bathrooms, however, were very dark, especially in the shower. In one bathroom, the bath/shower was tiled but in the other it was a fiberglass insert of the type I would expect at a Motel 6. As several other reviewers have commented, this is a nice hotel but lacks several amenities necessary for it to be the ultimate in luxury. For the first time visitor looking for the “Santa Fe” experience in a comfortable hotel near the plaza and the Railroad Yard, it is probably a good choice. It provides shuttle services around the downtown and to Museum Hill and the staff can help you identify restaurants and tourist sites. If you are a frequent visitor looking for the top value or a sumptuous experience this is probably not the hotel for you.

Room Tip: Try to get a room away from the railroad yard. When the morning RailRunner comes in from Albuquerqu...

I am disappointed to learn that you consider our ambiance to be a little “trife” but don’t forget that Santa Fe was here way before Disneyland came alone and may have copied some of our architecture!!

Also, don’t overlook that we are Native American owed and hence the appropriate Teepee on our grounds!!

Nonetheless, many thanks for staying with us and your overall positive review, although we do try to always provide great value!

Fairly quiet, very friendly desk, medium to spendy bar and food, close to Plaza and shopping, friendly staff. Nicely appointed common areas, old SW theme. Fair price for the money. Free shuttle to shopping areas.

When you walk into the lobby of the Santa Fe, you feel immediately welcomed. The architecture is typically Southwestern: warm, soft, rounded. There is an elegance to this hotel that speaks of history, but it is far from dated. My room on the third floor was small but sufficient, with the usual number of hotel room furnishings, yet the furniture was classic and strong, made far better than the usual furnishings in newer hotels. It is obvious that the Santa Fe considers itself several cuts above “normal and acceptable.”

House WiFi was free but poor, and I couldn’t get a signal strong enough to post a photograph via text. The bathroom was very small and required quite a lot of maneuvering around the door, which seemed to take up the bulk of the room. Housekeeping there could have used a bit more attention to detail, as I found long blond hair stuck to the wood of the door, a minor inconvenience that nonetheless makes you wonder what else has been overlooked.

Staff are accommodating and pleasant. There’s a small bar and restaurant off the lobby but visible to the front desk, so as you’re checking in, you can check out the patrons sitting on their bar stools. When I came back to the hotel in the evening after dinner out with friends, the bartender had disappeared. A waitress from the restaurant started my drink until the bartender returned, and—as a result—there was nothing short of a jigger in my cocktail.

The bed and the linens fully made up for any slight deficiencies in this hotel’s quest for perfection. Excellent bed, excellent linens, excellent night’s sleep. Another big plus: Once I closed my door, I did not hear one sound from anywhere outside my room. Heaven!

Room Tip: I suggest that the higher you go, the quieter it is.

My wife and I recently spent 6 days here on a getaway. We really enjoyed our time there. The room was nice sized (King Suite) with a nice little balcony to sit and drink morning coffee on. The maid service was fantastic! Room was made up in the morning and our attendant "Sonya" even came back in the afternoon to "turn down" our bed (which was a very comfortable King Size). We had breakfast and dinner at the hotel one day and the food was very good and fair priced. A short 10 minute walk to the center of Santa Fe, but that was one of the things we liked best about it, as it was nice and quiet at night.

Room Tip: Try and book a room with either a mountain or pool view
