A great museum when one visits Santa Fe. I would rate it as a must-see when one comes for a visit to Santa Fe. It is the best way to know the local native culture, the different nations and their contributions to the arts. The layout is well-designed with sufficient and succinct information along the way. (There is always a fine distinction between providing too much or inadequate information). Guided docents are knowledgeable. It is definitely well-worth my time.

A wonderful collection of arts and crafts, and an amazing collection of work by Maria Martinez. You can sit and watch a video of her and her husband making and decorating pots. I just loved it.

MIAC is a long-established museum that has traditional Indian crafts and special exhibits. Santa Fe is made up of the Pueblo Indian culture from many surrounding Pueblos but that's not all you see here. They cover quite a few other nations so don't think it will be boring!

Every visitor to Santa Fe should take some time to see this museum. A permanent display gives a great overview of Indian life in New Mexico from before the Europeans arrived to present day. Rotating exhibits show various Indian art. Some of the exhibits seem a little dated. Good gift shop.
