For purchasing authentic and one of a kind Native American art - the gift shop at the Wheelwright Museum of the American Indian is a must... The gift shop is a Museum in and of itself.... Friendly and knowledgable staff...

The display was on Native American art, much of it made during WW II and using recycled materials. The best thing was the gift shop on the lower level.

We had heard that the Wheelwright was worthwhile but i did not anticipate an education in Native American ingenuity. The museum thankfully is not large and the time spent was worthwhile.

Way overpriced at $10.00 each when there was virtually nothing to see

I have visited this museum several times and if you are interested in American Indian culture and art, this is the place. The museum only focuses on one theme at a time and it is a small museum, so you can really take in the entire exhibit and learn quitre a bit about a particular area and not feel overwhelmed. The Case Trading Post downstairs looks like an authentic late 19th -early 20th century trading post. The staff is terrific and the art is fabulous! Pottery, jewerly, katsina dolls, baskets, paintings, etc. And they don't charge tax. A must see.
