I have used the Plaza Park Benches many times since my 1st visit in 1999, as long as it is May thru October months, to people watch, read a book, or write postcards to friends. Tip: Often there are various Festivals, that can make this Plaza as thick almost as Times Square on New Years Eve, due to the people, and the various vendors, on the pavement, and grass. Bring very casual clothes, if you hit a Festival weekend, so you can sit in the grass, as all of the benches are often full on these occasions! Winter, is too cold, (for me) to be outdoors very long in Ski season, "sitting on a bench, on the Santa Fe Plaza"

We have eaten here now twice! Nostalgic feel when you walk in. The desserts are amazing. And the red sauce is pretty toasty. Very spicy. But good! This has been a staple on the square for a long time! Not real pricey as some other restaraunts are.

Found some lovely pieces of handmade silver and gemstone jewelry at great value. It was especially enjoyable to visit with the local Indian artisans and talk with them about their creations. They will bargain with you a bit but the value of what they are offering is very good anyway.

We were there on a Saturday when the local native americans displayed their wares. They have to bid on a spot about 5'x5'. Some travel quite far to get a space. The jewelry is really beautiful. You can really get a good deal and bypass the middleman. Worth seeing and shopping.

Santa Fe's small central plaza is pleasant, easily accessible by foot, and features shops, restaurants, Indian vendors, and historic sights. Shops range from tacky souvenirs to high end boots and clothing.

The Governor's Palace faces one side. There are parking ramps within a couple of blocks.

Very pleasant to spend a few moments. Many of the walking tours meet here.
