Vinny's has nice Italian ambiance and style and at least one superior dish: the Caesar topped with calamari. We shared it for a starter; it was more than ample, and at $11 or so it was a fantastic bargain. We then shared the tagliatelle funghi, which was competent but not distinctive.
Like any good Italian restaurant the "una per due" sharing concept is well understood. No hesitance, no up-charges, just cheerful assent.
Our server wore a baseball cap and a bowling shirt, which didn't seem all that Italian, but his service certainly measured up. Attentive but not "hovery." When I asked near the end of the meal if this was a truly Italian place in that one ought to be able to get half a glass of an open wine for half the cost it took less than two seconds thought for him to say with a bright smile, "of course we can do that."
Decent open wine selection and large wine list.
We look forward to a different pasta choice for our next visit. This is an extremely pleasant place.
