“Wonderfully scenic setting”

A photographers delight. A very beautiful lighthouse set on the cliff edge. Volunteers man the lighthouse with maps/radio links and good local information.

Thank you for visiting and mentioning the lighthouse in your review. The view from the shore is amazing and adding the lighthouse to it makes it spectacular. I hope you also had an opportunity to visit the lime kilns and the interpretive Center. The volunteers that staff the Center and lead the bi-weekly lighthouse tours love sharing their knowledge and special place on earth with visitors. Come back soon.

“Whales spotted”

Great spot to see whales going either North or South along the coast. Trails OK; a little rock and uneven.

It's been an odd year for whales here in the Salish Sea. I'm glad you were there when they were. The Park is one of the premier places in the world to see orcas from the shore. Some of the hiking trails are a bit rocky, after all we are on a big rock, but there are two wheel chair accessible trails, one to the whale watch area and another to to the lighthouse. Thanks for coming to the Park and taking the time to submit your review.

“Beautiful view”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 9, 2013 via mobile

Beautiful view, but did not see any whale while I was there, heard from the person works there, couple whales pass through in the early morning. According to their chart, whales passed through this point 100 times last year.

“Hyped!”

Ok to watch but 10$ for parking and a trail which we can do even outside of the park for the same views means it is avoidable.

Thank you for visiting the Park. All of the State Parks in Washington have the same parking fees, a day fee of $10 or an annual fee called the Discover Pass for $30 that is good at all 180+ Washington State Parks. I hope you had the time to visit the Interpretive Center, historic lighthouse and lime kilns as well as hiking. Thank you for taking thee time to submit a review.

“Stop by this state park”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 6, 2013

Beautiful views and you might see a whale, but most likely will see harbor seals and porpoises. The people are very helpful. Bring a picnic to sit and watch for a while, and this is on the San Juan Transit line.

Thanks for coming out to the Park. This time of year we expect to see whales but you never know. Like you pointed out there is always something to see if they are not around. I hope you had a chance to visit the lime kiln and lighthouse as well. Thank you for taking the time to submit a review for other readers.
