The first time we drove through the park, we stopped at a little secluded beach, complete with driftwood, tidepools, and a gorgeous ocean view. The second day, we went hiking near the lime kilns. That was amazing to see, especially if you're a history buff, and the trails surrounding it were lovely to walk through, even if they didn't take you to a view.

If you're on San Juan Island, add this to your "must do" sites. High chance of spotting the whales and other marine life. Beautiful light house. Good trails. Plan to pay the $10 day pass for WA state parks.

What an amazing view of Harold Point even on a cloudy day. We walked the path from the whale watch point to the lighthouse. We were able to see a couple sea lions and a sea otter. Great for families.
