We decided on Blue Water for our family to eat dinner on a relatively quiet Sunday evening. The views awe indeed nice, provided you are sat in a position to see it. We had a decent table outside with a view of the harbor until people came and sat at the railing bar and blocked it.
We stood out front for a bit waiting, never quite being acknowledged by someone despite it being pretty slow. When they did engage, the staff was friendly. However overall there's a big opportunity for the servers to be a little more attentive.
Fish and chips was pretty good with light crispy battered filets with a very sweet tarter sauce. The slaw was really good but the fries seemed over-battered. The ketchup dispenser was full of more water than ketchup and upon closer inspection the condiments in General looked like they hadn't been wiped or refreshed in a long time.
The captains platter has the same good fish and slaw but also come with coconut shrimp and calamari. The shrimp are small and look exactly like the SeaPak brand of frozen ones sold at the likes of Costco. No traditional sauce was offered. The calamari was in the form of three large rectangles that were well over cooked and just overall unappealing.
The vodka tea specialty drink was not enjoyed.
By the time we left the restaurant was nearly empty but we still had to walk ourselves to the front to pay as we couldn't keep waiting and hoping a server would come by as the kids are melting down.
I'd grab a drink here on a nice afternoon but I think there's better food to be found.
