I had no intentions of going three nights to the same place, but as I checked other places, I found myself returning to the Cask, which seems to be the local hang-out place as well as a favourite for summer residents. Nice relaxed pub atmosphere, cute brick bar, great friendly service.
I liked sitting at the bar, having wine and chatting. On the first visit, I ordered the local white wine and mussels. Both excellent, the mussels were plump and flavourful. Night two: red wine and a surprising pink beet salad, with pecans, blue cheese, apple and greens - very very good. Third night, I ordered the local red wine again, and the special, a brothello (yes I know, what a name) which is something like a thick French bouillabaisse: a fish and seafood stew in a garlicky broth, served with rouille. This was absolutely, hands down, amazing. And plentiful - I finished it for lunch the next day!
