“Excellent food, good price, super atmosphere.”
Reviewed September 4, 2012

Terrific pub with fun artifacts around, but the real draw is the truly excellent pub grub. Having had a less than interesting meal at a far too high a price just to get the patio seat with a view for lunch at Downriggers across the road, we ate at the Cask & Schooner for dinner. We all ended up with burgers despite the great choices available, but couldn't have been happier. Dinner for 4 + dessert + a bottle of wine = less expensive than lunch! Save room for the fabulous dessert menu.

“Great dining option in Friday Harbor”
Reviewed August 30, 2012

With an unusual combination of traditional pub fare (bangers and mash, meat pies), small plates and larger, fancier specials, Cask and Schooner has a variety that is likely to please any appetite. Have eaten there several times on visits to Friday Harbor and the food is always good. Nice beer and wine selection, great atmosphere with nautical/ british theme. With the variety of the menu comes a variety of price which makes it actually more reasonably priced than many options on San Juan Island. Minus a star because the service is a bit lacking, both times we waited a bit too long to be seated (even though there were open tables) and for our food.

“Great location, good food”
Reviewed August 30, 2012

First bar and restaurant you see when you walk up from the harbor. The food is tasty and nicely presented. Good quality beer on tap. We got there for early lunch, and didn't wait, but later there were many outside waiting for one of the few tables.

“Great location, ambience, food!”
Reviewed August 27, 2012

This nice English Pub is right on the main roundabout, with a view of the harbor. It is warmly lit and decorated, and busy without being too noisy. I had a beet salad and the clam chowder, and both were very good. My husband had the steak salad, and it was loaded with steak. He declared it very good as well. They had a nice selection of inexpensive wine by the bottle. To top off the experience, we had an older gentlemen come in with his accordions and play us Sea Shanties! Not too loud, but very nice. He played one I requested, and had a long list of others that you could request. I understand he's only there on Thursday night, so we got lucky. This is our second visit here, and we'll probably come again next time we're in town. Total bill, including a bottle of wine and dessert and coffee was about $75 for the two of us. A good value for our lovely evening.

“Our go to spot on the island, never disappointed!!”

Whether you sit at the bar on a romantic date with your mate or at a table with friends this is the place to be. Great creative and fresh food, generous portions and fantastic appetizers. We love the green papaya and calamari. The brodetta on the fresh list is not to be missed. Great service and very upbeat even when it's crowded as it usually is in the summer. Don't miss it-perfect location on the corner across from the harbor so perfect for people watching.
