“Amazing 3 days”
Reviewed September 28, 2013

7 senior women took the 3-day kayak tour with Outdoor Odysseys and loved every minute! From the paddling instruction to the camping and gourmet meals, everything was seamless and fun. Spent 2 nights camping on different islands; Jones Island had good hikes. Not much wildlife (Sept. 2013) but weather and everything else was great. The staff is very professional and I'd recommend OO to anyone.

“Awesome experience!”
Reviewed September 25, 2013

I highly recommend the 4 day/3 night kayaking trip offered by Outdoor Odysseys! Since I traveled by myself, I had quite a few questions prior to the trip. Peter was very informative and answered all my questions. Our guide Oren was fabulous! Not only was he a great educator on all things "San Juan islands" including the vast wildlife and their habitat, he is an amazing cook! Every meal was outstanding and his extra touches with specially made snacks or food presentation made the entire experience fun and enjoyable. The icing on the cake was the chance to see a Superpod of Orcas as we kayaked back on our final day. This was a trip of a lifetime for me and I plan to go back in the future.

“Better than we could have imagined”
Reviewed September 20, 2013 via mobile

We just got back from the 4 day/3 night kayak/camping trip. To say we had a great time would be an understatement. The guide, Oren was amazing and truly helped make the trip so memorable. The food was outstanding and unlike anything we could imagine would be possible on such an adventure! We would recommend this trip to anyone seeking adventure and a trip of a lifetime.

we took the 3day trip 25th-27th June 2013 our guides Kaitlin and oren where FANTASTIC!!! They had excellent knowledge on the area and provided fresh healthily meals that where yum. We didn't see any whales but we saw heaps of eagles, other sea birds porpoises,100+ seals, some jelly fish (that where non stinging) heaps of starfish We had beautiful camp site on jones island sadly the weather wasn't 2 kind 2 us the all trip 1st day we paddled a good 6 hrs 2nd day really windy only got 2-3 hrs paddling 3rd day a bit chilly about 8hrs of paddling. At the put in site they give us a debriefing on the fitting of life jackets and spray skirts, how to Hold the paddles, how to paddle, fitting the boats, steering etc they they had drawn up maps 4 each boat and wildlife cards,it was my first real kayak trip (I had a beginners course 5-6 weeks be4) once when we where on water Kaitlin and oren made us feel comfortable and had good time like we all kept on joking around and having a good laughs while on the water. When we reached jones island we had 2 unpack the boats and set up camp we had a really nice view from camp site then once set up we could enjoy a chat/explore the island. While Kaitlin and oren set up the camp kitchen, the food was sooo good they make the best desserts using their famous Dutch oven, and @ night and enjoyed campfire. On day 2 they took us on a walk around the island that was really nice and good view. On day 3 we woke up early in the morning to oren singing, after breakfast we needed to be packed up quickly and pack the boats due to the weather once we got to the take out site had unpacked the boats and put them back on the trailer we had time 2 get changed into dry clothes and and a bit end of trip chat be4 hopping back on the van Kaitlin and oren dropped every one off where we needed to that evening some of us including Kaitlin and oren caught up @ a bar to enjoy a drink if anyone that's going 2 the san juans and want 2 do some kayaking outdoor odesseys r way to go

“Consistently great staff and experience”
Reviewed September 9, 2013

One thing I've learned over the years of leading outdoor adventure activities, you cannot control nature, but you can make sure the participant are having a good time no matter what nature does. The folks at Outdoor Odysseys are great examples of this. While we did not have the opportunity to see the whales (this time), our guide made sure we had a great experience with all available wildlife for viewing, providing answers to our questions about the region, its fauna and flora, and how best to operate our equipment safely and securely. They provided a list of needs so we could be properly prepared for our trip. They provided good gear for both the paddling and camping aspects of our adventure. This was my second use of Outdoor Odysseys for a group trip. Both excursions were great, with friendly, knowledgeable guides that took care of our needs, preparing great food, providing maps and reference guides to help us learn about the area, and keeping a great attitude regardless of winds, water, wildlife and that rare annoying guest. This trip had us paddling home in a strong head wind. Our guide helped us navigate into coves to give us breaks, keeping the group together safely. Kudos to Oren in 2013 and Michael in 2010. We'll be back in 2015/2016.
