My wife and I are educated about whales, Orcas, and a much of the major sea life but we both walked away with even more knowledge of these wonderful animals. The museum is not very big, but there is a lot of information, pictures, videos, and more packed neatly and comfortably inside. The museum features some great educational activities for children as well as updates on Orca sightings all over the San Juan island area.

This is a great little museum to get the history and story of whaling and the whales that are common in the area. Great for kids to learn about the whales, there are even movies upstairs for them.

A short film is shown explaining the whales. There is an abundance of things to buy such as postcards, trinkets, tee shirts, hats, jackets, anything you would expect at someplace like this. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful explaining about the whales. They knew where whales were spotted that day and gave us a heads up.

There is much to learn about the inhabitants of the sea around the Pacific Northwest and the museum has much to offer for all who visit.
