We are longtime tent campers who decided to try “glamping” in the Neva Lake Cottages as a birthday splurge. Loved it! Would (& probably will) return in a heartbeat! Basically everything you’d get in a very nice hotel room except the walls are made of canvas. Big (king-sized!) comfy bed with quality linens. A beautiful view of the lake, comfy day-bed inside & Adirondack chairs outside for lounging. Shower (with very good water pressure) toilet & sink *in the tent* plus all towels, soap, shampoo & hair dryer. (No more getting all dressed to slog to the community toilet or shower house!) Continental breakfast (the usual fare- juices, yogurt, oatmeal, cereal, hb eggs etc. And the world’s coolest pancake machine!) in the neighboring mess tent. But the most luxurious touch? Every afternoon, a delightful young man delivers fleece-covered hot water bottles you can place at the foot of the bed to warm your toes! (Bet you don’t get that on your usual camping trip! )
Each tent has its own fire ring (starter bundle of firewood provided) if you are inclined or have a hankering for s’mores (kits avail. at the lodge!)
Front of tent is zip-up mesh panels so plenty of fresh air and bugs are kept out. If you want more privacy, you can drop the canvas panels. We had no need. Neighboring tents are 15-20 ft. away and there's no one on the other side of the lake. It *is* a tent so you can hear passers-by but the property has quiet hours 10pm-8am and people seem to observe that so noise not an issue.
Check-in was smooth, all staff were friendly. Tent interior & furnishings were clean. Property is well-maintained, with lots to do if you don’t want to venture out to Roche Harbor or Lime Kiln Park. We spent one afternoon just lounging in the sun, reading in the shade and enjoying the swallows swooping over the lake & the eagles soaring overhead.

We are from CA and decided at the last minute to take our RV and tandem bike to one of the San Juan Islands. In searching for an RV site, Lakedale Resort caught our eye. Though we never saw a staff member, the website and phone conversations were all we needed to get us there and checked in. Once there we only saw 4 other guests in the two nights and three days we stayed. I wish we would have stayed longer. We took a bike ride right out of the resort, relaxed in the chairs by one of the lakes, walked around the resort and got our "steps" in for the day. It was clean, serene, beautiful, accessible, and very quiet. Just what the Dr. ordered. We would go back in a heartbeat!

We stayed in the Airstream and it was so much fun! Very well equipped. Clean, fast hot water, etc!
We loved the staff, the tranquil surroundings and played all the games. We were there largely by ourselves but that didn't stop the Lakedale team from treating us like VIPs. Highly recommended!

A group of us stayed at the campground on a cycle trip and I can’t speak highly enough about the staff who were so responsive on email and so welcoming when we arrived. The grounds are beautiful with all the amenities that you need. Really looking forward to going back to this beautiful island and staying at Lakedale in the future… Maybe in the lovely lodge or one of their yurts.
