This Hilton Location is a perfect fit in downtown San Antonio. Our room appeared to be newly remodeled and Isabel did a wonderful job upgrading a loyal Hilton Honors VIP to a top floor and suite. Even the Elevator System was new and state of the art.

My family loved it and had a wonderful time and experience. Their breakfast had everything available and I'm sure a kitchen sink was even availalabe if requested :o)

Thank you to the entire staff and Isabel for making this an awesome family memory. You made us feel special!

Very nice hotel right on the riverwalk. I have eaten breakfast here before and it is a little pricey. I stayed for business at this hotel this time and the rooms were very modern for an old place. I didnt pay too much attention to price, but the rooms were quiet and we were right on the riverwalk.

My mother and I stayed for a long weekend. The service provided by the hotel staff was top notch. Everyone from the front desk to the bellmen were very helpful.
We were on the 15th floor facing the street. It was great to look out over the city in the morning and evenings from our balcony - and there was no traffic noise!
The room was clean and comfortable. The pool area was spotless.
One could not ask for a better location - literally one step from the door, and you are on the Riverwalk.
The annual Fiesta started the weekend we were there, but the hotel bellmen were able to get a taxi to the airport with no problem. The traffic control (blocking off streets for the parades) was much better than in the past... we could actually into and out of the Hilton entrance.
I was not a great fan of any of the three restaurants on site we tried: the Ibiza restaurant - good service, but over priced. Tex's - horrible service and dry chicken ceasar salad. Dirty Nelly's - inattentive service. But in all fairness, I have never been able to find the combination of excellent service and great food at any restaurant along the Riverwalk.
When I asked the concierage about a suggestion for dinner, he not only gave us different options, but a coupon for a free starter.
As others have mentioned, the cost to park is hideous.
But, I will keep returning for the great service, the clean/comfortable rooms and the fantastic location.

This hotel has recently been upgraded, and it's really nice. The newfangled elevator system takes some getting used to, and parking is a ripoff ($22/day for self parking across the street), but the service was good, and the Ibiza breakfast buffet with custom omelets is worth the $20 if you have the time to spend on a good meal. But where's the free wifi? This is 2012, folks, San Antonio needs to get wired. Also, beware of Durty Nelly's downstairs -- poor service.

Room Tip: The "river view" rooms above floor 6 aren't worth the extra charge -- that high you ju...

This Hilton hotel was very comfortable. We had a room on the 14th floor with a balcony overlooking the riverwalk on St. Patrick's Day weekend. It was fun watching the dying green of the river, the parade, and all the celebrations at the outdoor amphitheater. We valet parked and didn't have to worry about parking. We walked everywhere we went downtown. The hotel, lobby, restaurants, rooms, were all very clean and nice.

Room Tip: If you can get a room on the riverwalk side, it is worth the extra cost.

A co-worker and I stayed in the Hilton Palacio del Rio for business recently. Unbeknownest to us when we checked into the hotel it was Fiesta Week. On Monday night there was a boat parade on the river outside of the hotel. Gabriel at the Bell desk told us how we could get down to the river and the Durty Nelly's Bar. The walkway he told us to use was blocked by the city. We went to Gabriel again and explain the situation. He told us to wait a minute and he'd be right back. He reutrned and told us to follow him. He personally lead us down to Durty Nelly's 15 minutes before the parade started and put us at a water front table!! He really set us up for a great evening of fun in front row seats.

Being in the military we are not always treated to such special service. From 2 soldiers we want to thank Gabriel and the Hilton Palacio del Rio for taking care of us and making our stay so enjoyable. We highly recommend this hotel and hope to stay there again.

We really appriciated his efforts. Gabriel went above and beyond to help out 2 guests have a great evening.

Room Tip: Water front rules!!

Only reason I didn't give 5 stars was because of the extra price for wifi, parking, and breakfast. Other than that I was very happy with the location and rooms. I am rendered speechless by how helpful the staff was. While at a conference, my friend fell and broke One of her crutches on water spilt on the floor of another hotel/conference center. That hotel was not helpful. The Hilton staff not only brainstormed solutions but quickly found the spare crutch piece that we needed, saving me a $50 trip to Walgreens. They also recognized us by the second day, despite the high traffic Fiesta brought to their hotel. Very impressed and would stay here again.
