“Very clean and fabulous location”
Reviewed July 5, 2013

The location of this hotel is perfect. We were in the middle of everything and enjoyed walking to dinner each night. It was across the street from the convention center, which was a 5 minute walk. The rooms were lovely, very clean and quiet. The AC worked well at 68 during the day and 70 at night. There was plenty of space in the bathroom and vanity area. Housekeeping was fantastic during our 4 night stay! The desk staff was efficient and relatively friendly. We dealt with one front desk clerk that was somewhat snippy, but the other staff made up for his poor attitude. I appreciated that the hotel manager took the time to slip letters under our door stating that the Spurs playoff game would be going on and downtown could get a little noisy that evening. Such a nice touch! I would also like to mention that the elevator service was quick! Love that. If you would like a fridge, they will bring one to your room. Be warned- it is more like a freezer. I am withholding a point because it really frustrates me that there is a charge of 12.95 per day for wireless internet service. This is a corporate policy and shouldn't reflect negatively on the management, but it is still annoying. Parking is $35 per night for valet, and $25 for self. That fee I do understand because of being in the city and space is very limited. Oh, there is a Starbucks in the lobby, and the bar downstairs makes a drink called a Texas Sipper- so good! I would definitely book this hotel again.

Room Tip: Ask for corner suite!

I booked the Marriott Rivercenter for my son and daughter in law's 10th anniversary. Since the trip was a gift from us, I contacted Bianca Cortez to setup third party billing. Bianca sent me the needed authorization forms and got things arranged.

When my son arrived, he sent me pictures of their room. Bianca had upgrade them to a junior suite on the 38th floor! They loved the location on the Riverwalk, along with the mall next door.

Thanks go to the staff for a wonderful experience. I'm recommending Marriott RiverCenter to all my Texas travelers.

Bianca, thank you for taking good care of my family!

The hotel is right in the middle of the riverwalk, I will give a description of our room on the 15th floor:
1. Room had 2 double beds, it was at the end of the hallway so less noise
2. Sink was outside of bathroom which gives the freedom for a person to use it while the other person is in the bathroom
3. Bathroom was ok size, need to ask for more towels since they give limited towel, and make sure you ask for a bath mat to avoid slipping in the bathtub especially if you have children
4. The shower was good pressure, it took a while for the water to drain, but it wasnt that bad
5. Room has a nice view of the riverwalk and the pool
6. There are 2 pools one indoor and one outdoor we were able to use both, both of them were good size
7. The A/C was great, the beds were amazing and comfy
8. Breakfast buffet at Sazo is not that great, it was ok, we had breakfast one time as Sazo and the next day at Starbucks which is in the lobby area
9. Lobby area is spacious, nice place to sit down with a cup of coffee or any refreshment
10. Housekeeping was good and we always found our room clean when we came back to the room
11. no fridge, no microwave in room.
12. Overall its a good hotel to be at if you are planning to be at the riverwalk, close to the Alamo and all riverwalk attractions (walking distance)

Room Tip: Ask for extra towels and a bathtub mat when you check in

The city views are wonderful, and the location couldn't be better. It's also nice to have parking in a city where parking is very difficult to find. Staff was very polite. Our king room was a bit small but very clean.

This has become my go to hotel in San Antonio. Corner rooms are a bit smallish, but great view. Concierge lounge is excellent. They know how to take care of Elite customers. Awesome access to riverwalk and attached shopping. The Alamo is a short easy walk away.

OK, so I've stayed at both the Riverwalk and Rivercenter Marriott hotels within a month of each other and I can definitely say that the Rivercenter is a nicer hotel in every way than the Riverwalk. They are right next to each other so they are both in a great location, BTW, don't count proximity to the mall as a benefit for either hotel, it's kind of ratty. The only reason to stay at the Riverwalk is if you HAVE to have a balcony (because it didn't appear that the Rivercenter has any) or the price is significantly less.

The food, rooms, fitness center, Concierge Lounge are all better. However I like the smaller Riverwalk bar better.

Room Tip: I had a corner room 8 floors up facing Commerce street and I didn't have any problems with outsi...

My wife and I stayed at this hotel while attending a conference. The hotel was outstanding. The service was excellent on all points and the location could not be better. The hotel was only two blocks from the convention center and you could get there by the river walk, street level, or walking through the Marriott River Walk. The desk-clerk made sure that we knew how to get to the convention center at check-in. The hotel is adjacent to the River Center Mall. There was easy access to the RiverWalk and all the restaurants available there. We ate breakfast across the street at Denny's which was very convenient. The room itself was very clean and had a nice view overlooking part of the river-walk. The pool was an indoor/outdoor pool and was very clean. The fitness room had a good variety in equipment.
