I read the reviews on this hotel before booking and I was skeptical. But when Alamo CIty Comic Con teamed up with the hotel, I got rooms half off and decided to stay here. When we first arrived, the hotel lobby was crowded but we were assisted immediately. The concierge was very kind and was very friendly. She asked us how our trip was and then gave us a map of the area, gave us directions to a few places as well. Then because I was a Marriotts Reward Member (I just signed up the week before) she upgraded me to a River Walk balcony view for free! We got up to the room (which was very east to access, about half way up). It was very clean. A lot of people complained about the size but it was very spacious. Me and my mother-in-law spent most of our time at the convention or shopping so it was perfect for our girls weekend. There was a lot of noise coming from street at night but I love the noise of the city so it didn't bother me at all. We were only about 3 days down from the elevator and we didn't hear it at all like most people said they did. Overall, beautiful room, lovely view. Seeing as I was going to Henry B. Gonzalez Center both days, it was very convenient. We were right across the street from it and also right across the street from the mall. We never walked more than 4 blocks for lunch or dinner. Very close to police station so you feel safe walking at night. Everyone in San Antonio is very friendly and were helpful when we got lost going to dinner our first night. Will be staying here again in September when the comic convention comes back to town.

Room Tip: Ask for a room higher up if you don't like the noises of the city. Every night around midnight a...

Stayed for a Thanksgiving trip. Great check-in as well as check-out. We were given a room on the 16th floor with a beautiful view of the Riverwalk - such a wonderful view of the holiday lights. An older property, but clean room. Quick walk to the Rivercenter Mall across the street. Special thank you to the front desk manager on duty the morning after Thanksgiving, especially when it was so busy with the influx of guests checking in before the parade. Hotel staff we encountered during our stay were all so friendly. Kids loved the heated pool!

Thank you so much for a great review. I’m very pleased to know you and your family enjoyed staying with us. The River Walk is especially beautiful during the Holidays and I’m glad you experienced the beauty of the Holiday lights. You will be pleased to know that the hotel will undergo a rooms renovation in 2014, I hope you can join us and again experience brilliant hosting.

A Marriott Hotel has always been a good choice for me but, not this time.
1. There was no one in the loby to help you. I think the service was on the 28th floor.
2. When we asked about the boat service we were told to look outside. We didn't know boat service stops when it is raining. The loby helper didn't know either.
3. The resturant and bar prices were higher than any Marriott I have ever stayed.
4. Our room was not vacumed before we checked in. I found a piece of bacon on the floor.
5. We had no room service two days in a row. When we called it took one hour for housekeeping to come. When they came they did not give full service. No coffee or cups left, and the floor was not clean. I cleaned behing the door in the bathroom.
We did have a nice location. The view was great.
The furniture on the balcony was torn. The desk was right by the bed. If someone was at the desk the other person could not get by to go to the balcony. The sigh the door of the room says they can charge up to $600.00 a night.

Room Tip: Make sure you get a river view room. They do deliver refrigerators to your room if you ask. I foun...

We had a room with a view of the River Walk. It was a small room and felt somewhat older. It is in a great location if you are trying to be near the River Walk. Good bar downstairs for sports. Walk out of the hotel and straight down to the River Walk.

We enjoyed our stay at the Marriott Riverwalk - the basement has direct access to the riverwalk; and a overwalk bridge across the river from the rivercenter mall (shops and foodcourt). Close to the Alamo and 10 to 15min walk along the riverwalk to the main plaza. and all stroller friendly.

We had a room with a balcony overlooking the riverwalk. Great views with all the christmas lights over the riverwalk. Also close to the Rivertaxi stop.

Staff were friendly and helpful. Its an older hotel though and rooms a bit dated but were absolutely clean and neat - Perhaps a little on the smaller side. But no complaints.

Internet is not complimentary. $10 per day
Parking is $25 plus tax per night - but most downtown hotels charge for parking.

Would stay here again

Room Tip: Room with Balcony overlooking riverwalk

The staff was super friendly and helpful! We had booked through Priceline and they actually gave us a free upgrade with a river view! The hotel has a great pool, bar, restaurant , and gym. The location is excellent! If you're visiting SanAntonio, I recommend this hotel. It would be great for families!

Room Tip: You'll want a view of the river. It's beautiful !

Great location and beds were very comfortable. Typical of all Marriott hotels, they have the best bedding!
Having stayed here before, about 10 years ago, we asked for a balcony. It was great seeing the Christmas lights and the boats on the Riverwalk.

Front desk staff were very friendly and quick check-in.
We didn't know where to park as the front of the hotel was congested. We ended up parking at the City parking garage right next door and it was considerably cheaper then the hotel's parking.
The rooms were clean, however, this hotel needs to be remodeled and soon! The lobby was nice, but the rooms had the old "popcorn" ceilings and old wallpaper.
Make sure you end up at the correct Marriott, as we had friends coming in and they mistakingly made their reservation at the "Rivercenter" Marriott which is the larger of the two, and newer.
We thought about staying there, but we wanted a balcony.

Room Tip: Ask for a balcony room, on a higher floor
