This Marriott hotel has been renovated maybe a couple of years ago, and the renewed lobby and bar show the details of the new and more up to date design, as well as the front desk and the rooms.

However, that is probably as long as the renovation has taken the place, and the age is starting to get to it. Rooms are not bad, but elevator noises can be heard all day long, as well as the train horn from across town as windows are not double-pane. Bathrooms are ok but also aging and not particularly large.

The restaurant/bar on the lobby offers decent bar food, but nothing more than that, although the staff is great and very friendly. Same goes for the concierge lounge, which is very well managed but does not necessarily stand out as superb.

Valet parking gets your car out quickly, although parking prices have begun a ridiculous hike over the last few years and this is not an exception. $33 to valet or $25 to park yourself.

The staff is an differentiating factor in this hotel. They are able to handle special requests, unexpected situations and just do whatever they can to make a stay great. Marriott's are usually good, but this team is exceptional. For example, the in room hair dryer blew out and they were able to quickly get me a new one. We needed a roll-a-way and one was quickly delivered. The rooms are lovely. Nice bathrooms, great bathrooms, everything I expected. The fitness center is very cool and a caliber above most. Plenty of cardio, weights, machines and very much like a mini Golds Gym. We ordered room service for breakfast and were surprised at the quality of the food. We asked for a side of salsa with the eggs and it was great! After eating breakfast twice, I suspect dinner is actually pretty good and not the normal bland hotel food. There is some significant road noise, even on the higher floors. We have stayed up and down the Riverwalk and this problem is pretty common. They do supply earplugs. I am a moderate/light sleeper and I slept soundly, but a super light sleeper might want to request a room away from the street. The location is convenient to everything. I would definitely stay here again and pick this place over other options.

The atmosphere of the Marriott San Antonio Riverwalk is quite nice. Located just a very short distance form the Marriott Rivercenter (located inside the Rivercenter Mall), this hotel also places guests right on the Riverwalk and includes its own parking garage (at $25 to $33 per 24 hour stay). A short walk will allow guests to visit the Alamo. The hotel was clean and provided for a quite nice stay.

The front desk staff was courteous and helpful, even when having to help figure out a sales tax exempt stay and a missing key card upon check out. The experience at Marriott San Antonio Riverwalk was well worth repeating.

Room Tip: Rooms are generally priced as City View or Riverwalk View. Selecting your view will impact the room cost, but floors begin at the 8th level, so your view will always be better than watching cars drive by your window.

I was in room 1722. There was some outdoor noise on the building of this corner room that sounded like something swinging on a squeaky hinge that kept me up off and on all night. Someone from management might want to spend a night in this room and figure it out. Mediocre bed and pillows, loud room in general. Wouldn't stay here again.

A great hotel and fantastic staff. It is always hard to beat Marriott and this location demonstrates why. Access the river walk area within feet of the hotel and traverse the cool network of canal like paths and park views and great restaurants of every type.

A full service property in the downtown that offers uninterrupted views of the city. Staff could not be nicer and more helpful. This is not just Texas hospitality it is Marriott hospitality as this is the level
We find in every state to which we travel.
