This is a fairly nice hotel with updated rooms and a great location on the Riverwalk. The public areas don't seem to have been updated quite yet; the restaurant looked like an '80s holdover or an airport lounge, and the Riverwalk level is as ugly as it has ever been.

The room was quite large and attractive, with a very big HDTV and a spacious bathroom.

I was a bit upset with this booking as I did it on Priceline, hoping for a 4-star at a reasonable price. Priceline told me the average price would be $180, so I went $130 and ended up with this joint, where the nightly rate is $129. Sigh.

Parking is $23 and valet is $27. I'd say the $4 extra was worth the hassle of dealing with traffic as we drove in to San Antonio on a Saturday night.

Had to check out of my room at 12 and check my bags at the bell desk until I left for the airport 2 hours later. When I received my bags back - my iPod Classic was missing. There is no camera in the bell closet! Your bags are safer in the lobby outside the bell desk where there is a camera. Of course they deny anyone being responsible for my missing ipod. Lesson learned - lock your bags up if you ever check your baggage at this hotel. Do not trust the bell staff at this hotel if you value your belongings.

Once again, the boss wanted to stay at Hyatt.....

Booked two rooms at "govt" rate. Granted, my assistant did not check to see if indeed it matched the hotel per diem, she took the hotel's word for it.

Checked in and was told the boss was being upgraded to a nicer room since he had status with Hyatt. Eventually realized that he was charged extra money for the room because it was the "business plan" and not a free upgrade. Three different people told us different lies to cover up the error.

We then realized that it was NOT the govt rate at all. The hotel insisted that the govt rate fluctuates depending on the capacity of the hotel. I book govt rate rooms all the time, for over 5 years now and have NEVER heard of this. Either they offer the govt rate or they don't. Called around, talked to manager, no one could help and insisted it was our error. We bit the bullet and will not go to or recommend Hyatt again. We now stay Hilton or Marriott.

The good thing about this place was the location. That is all.

My husband and I stayed here while he attended a conference. We had an executive king room overlooking the atrium, Room 861. The hotel's room pictures are very accurate. The room was contemporary and nice with a wonderful bed, pillows, linens. However, it was very dark and noisy. We had to use all of the lamps in our room, all the time. If you like the morning sun coming into your room, don't book an atrium view. I would equate it to an inside cabin on a cruise ship. The housekeeping supply room was next to our room and the housekeepers liked to gather there although our room was never serviced until late afternoon.

The noise from the lobby and riverwalk worked its way up to our room. Although we had a balcony overlooking the atrium, it was rarely used. In order to read on the balcony, I had to use the overhead light, even during the day. Plus the balcony chairs were very uncomfortable.

The bathroom was large but nothing special. The flat screen tv was very good.

The best thing about this hotel may be the location. It is in walking distance to everything. It has an entrance to the Riverwalk from the lower lobby and is right in the middle of the most bustling area. The convention center is a short walk away, as is the Rivercenter Mall which includes an IMAX theater. The Alamo is across the street.

I would stay here again if I was in San Antonio, but I definitely would not book an atrium view room and no balcony.

Stayed here for a long weekend getaway. Hotel is very nice and in a great location on the RIverwalk. Staff was good and responsive, even in securing us a taxi for 6 people at 4AM! Located right across the streeet from the Alamo. Yes, everything is pricey but not out of line with comparable hotels. One block away we took a bus to the Fiesta Six Flags theme park - that only cost $2 per person. All in all a very nice place for a getaway.

A huge hotel in the perfect location along San Antonio's River Walk. Lots of conventions in town, and although the lobby was pretty busy, it complemented the bustling vibe outside its doors and along the River Walk. Staff was very friendly and the rooms had all the amenities, including access to the roof pool. It's within walking distance to the Alamo, restaurants, and a nice shopping mall. Be sure to take a boat tour of the River Walk. Fun and educational for all ages!

I got a really good rate for this hotel on Hotwire which was about the only good deal really. The hotel is lovely and well located (has an exit right onto the Riverwalk) and has rooms that look out over the Alamo.

However, parking is $23.00 a night, internet is $10 a night, the restaurant is expensive and so is the room service,

Rooms are nice and big, very comfy with big flat screen TVs. The lifts are neat and the skypool is excellent on the roof!!

If you got a hotwire/priceline rate for this hotel, just use it for sleeping as you wont be too happy with the prices of food etc.
