I visited the Hyatt Regency San Antonio for a conference and was very pleased with every aspect of the hotel. The location - on the Riverwalk and within view of the Alamo - is perfect. The sleeping rooms are well-appointed. Some have views of the Riverwalk, some of the atrium and some of the Alamo/city. It was great having an Einstein Brothers Bagel shop right in the hotel, but if you stay here don't miss having at least one meal at their 'sit down' restaurant Q on the Riverwalk. I had one of the best black bean burgers I've ever had, and also ordered their lentil chili from room service - VERY good. What really makes the hotel good though is its staff. Every single person with whom I interacted was friendly, helpful and obviously wanted to make sure they took care of whatever I needed. I would strongly recommend staying at the Hyatt Regency.

We stayed here during Fiesta Week, which was a great time to go. Very busy, but since there are a lot of events which are all located within walking distance from the hotel, it is a great location. We parked our car and never used it the whole time we were there. It is directly on the Riverwalk, in the middle, so don't be surprised about all of the hustle and bustle going on. However, the rooms are lovely and fairly quiet. Since our room opened up into the open court yard in the middle, it was a bit noisy. If it is a parade day, be sure to call for directions, as they close off streets and since this is in the middle of the parade route, you must know the correct way to arrive or you will never get there!! We did that and it worked perfectly. You can walk to the Alamo, which is free and a must see for those who grew up watching Davey Crockett and Jim Bowie. Much smaller than we expected, but quaint and it doesn't take must time. Just nostalgic! Looking forward to going again.
Had some really exceptional meals on the Riverwalk, which are reviewed in another section. There are so many choices and we did make a few "mediocre" choices, so it is best to go with word of mouth and read the reviews. They all "look" inviting!
We did not eat there as there are so many choices just outside on the Riverwalk. But, we did enjoy sitting and having appetizers in the Bar, which is small but a fun place.
The staff were all friendly and courteous and tried to attend to our every need, in spite of the business. We plan to take our family there next year, as it is perfect for groups. Looking forward to next year!

Room Tip: If you want more quietness, choose an outer room that does NOT open into the courtyard.

Great location! Pricey because it is so close to the Alamo and Riverwalk and lots of downtown restaurants. What I remember is a creaky doors to both the room and the bathroom, and a toilet that sounded like one on an airplane.. really loud WHOOOOSH... stand clear!!
They should attend to the creaks which I would have mentioned if we planned to stay more than one night.

Stayed here for business conference. Location is great, right on the river walk. Rooms were spacious and up to date. Staff, with the exception of the concierge, were friendly and very helpful. Would highly recommend it.

If you want a great view of the Alamo and a fantastic location on the River Walk, this is a don't miss hotel. I would not, however, count on room in the pool or on the pool deck, as the posted capacity is 35 people. The restaurant is a little pricey considering that there are a zillion restaurants within easy walking distance from the hotel. I'd skip that place, even though we did eat there due to a time constraint one morning. Forgettable and expensive breakfast!!
There are rooms that overlook the hotel atrium; if you were to get one of those, you need to ask for a discount. If you are not on the river side or the Alamo side, you are getting overcharged.
Service and room size are great, security is the best I've ever seen; all room floors are key access only from the elevator. No random sightseers have access to your room!

Room Tip: Alamo or river side ONLY!!

For a business hotel this facility is quite acceptable - no significant flaws, good service, great location right on the riverwalk. The staff was helpful and friendly. Of note, there are open public area balconies overlooking the central atrium along with glass elevators. if you are afraid of heights or if you are travelling with rambunctious kids this might not be the best place.

This place was great!! We happened to be there for Fiesta, so things were busy! We had such a great time and the location couldn't be beat. DASA spa was great as well. We had Matt and Albert for a couples massage.... ahhhh! The hotel was clean and the beds were comfy! Check in was smooth and they let us check in early! Very thrilled with this hotel and we will return. We also self-parked in the garage and had no hassles with that!
