“Wonderful!!!!!”
Reviewed August 1, 2009

This hotel was absolutely wonderful. I don't have any complaints .We were always busy. The lazy river was a blast, the man made beach was cool, and the bike rentals were great as well. I could go on and on about the activities but the list would be too long. My kids were very disappointed when it was time to leave. We will be back next year!!!

We stayed at the resort for two days. The lazy river was the main reason we stayed here and we enjoyed it. We purchased the family vacation package that includes breakfast. Do not waste your money. The food at the Springhouse Cafe was much worse than the last time we stayed here. Whether you choose buffet or order separately, both were equally bad. Dinner was not very good either. The best item was coffee in the morning and chocolate cake after dinner.

We were in room 3814 and it had rotten access most all amenities. We did not valet this time. Self parking would have been fine if they would allow you to enter through the nearest doors. However they lock the exterior doors so you have to walk all the way around this monster hotel to find access. Hopefully you pick the right door or you'll be walking 15 minutes to find your room. Its like a maze and the stairways are all centrally located, nothing in the interior wings of the hotel.

Overall this was a nice place for family fun. Would not be a relaxing, quiet time for adults or singles.

It's a pretty nice hotel, but we should have chosen our typical Hampton Inn experience, or La Quinta, or anyplace that offers free breakfasts. I think perhaps we are just not the "resort type" of family. We're too cheap to enjoy ourselves at a place like this. The Internet access was $10/day, fortunately we used our iPhones and got around that. Also we found a Walmart close by and got our room snacks there. We did the Self Parking option instead of the valet (and the staff were very polite to us about that). Clearly it is a popular place but something just felt weird about spending $200/night for a room that was extremely ordinary. We ate ala cart breakfast in the Springhouse Cafe and it was tasty, but again, pricey, $40 for 4 of us, and not worth it. The Rambling River was a welcome way to end a day at SeaWorld, but it was crammed with boisterous kids. I think perhaps we are the last human beings on the planet who believe in disciplining our kids. All the staff we encountered were polite and outgoing and chatty. In all, a lovely resort if you're into that sort of thing. I honestly can't recommend it though.

This was the most expensive hotel that I have ever stayed in and it was the worst hotel experience that I have ever had. The guys parking the cars drove wrecklessly and were not that helpful. They pretty much demand you to hand over your car keys when you get there. Clearly they are trying to make extra money but not in a polite way.

They will charge you $10 for internet every day when most places offer it for free. Their lazy river was ok but they kept it open until midnight with no life guard and poor lighting. The people at the front desk were not very helpful and they could not even print out our bill at the end of our stay. The staff in all areas of the hotel did not seem happy to be working there or willing to help.

Their garden area smells like a horse barn and the room smelled like beer.

As you can tell I'm not accustom to spending $500 per night for a room so I expected much better. It was worse than Motel 6.

Our stay was a last minute add on to our San Antonio/Hill Country vacation. I was disappointed with the value of the resort. Because of the add on we did book the rooms a little more than a week out , therefore we had to reserve a room on the "club" floor. This room type includes use of a club area with food/snacks offered throughout the day. The room had a strong mildew odor and the snacks were not very good. The lazy river was a cool respite to the July heat but not really relaxing. There is a lot of splashing, pushing, kicking, etc. the whole time you are trying to float. I have kids, ages 13, and 10 they were with me on this vacation, but there are 2 large pools that would be perfect for all of that horseplay. I think the resort could have monitored that activity a little better since the majority of lazy river population were adults trying to relax. The resort is in need of some updating. The bluebonnet carpet and antiquated TV's are dating the place! Everywhere you look there are drink stands, snow cone stands etc. they will definitely charge it to your room, no matter how old you are! Parents be careful your kids have charging privledges! Regret the last minute decision to stay at this resort.

This place is absolutely amazing! We had the most wonderful time. From the moment you step foot on the property you feel an overwhelming sense of welcome. It's a phenomenal place, with fun opportunities for the entire family. Some of the many things that we enjoyed during our stay are as follows: Rambling River, 4th of July buffets, massage at the Windflower Spa, fireworks display, movie on the lawn, youth spa services, Regency Club access, making s'mores, and so much more. We ran all over the place during this trip. When we return, and that's a for sure, we've talked about just hanging out around the hotel for most of the time. It's SO MUCH fun, and very very relaxing.

We stayed at the Hyatt Hill Country Resort and Spa the last week of June. It is by far the most customer oriented hotel I have ever experienced! Everyone who works there offers a smile and a greeting. They ask you repeatedly if they can be of assistance. The rooms were nicely furnished with a complimentary refrigerator. Stock the fridge with milk and go down to the hotel's General Store for cereal for the kids. The standard room was a little on the small side......but, you won't be spending much time in it anyways. And, when you do, the beds are wonderfully comfortable! There are also complementary washers/dryers. The resort is immaculate. Fitness facility is well equipped. Bicycles are also complementary. There is a jogging/nature trail and a very nice golf course. But, one of the most amazing attractions of the resort is the lazy river, attached to the activity pool. You could float in the shade for hours, even on the hottest of days! S'mores are offered each evening.......the children roast their own marshmallows over a large (very safe) fire pit. Practically across the street from Sea World. Extremely family oriented and so much fun! A must stay!
