“Great Fish”
Reviewed September 19, 2013

Loved all the dishes. Sat near the front so we could see the food being prepared. We both tried the servers recommendations, a few entrées and one main between the two of us. Had some of the best fish dishes we ever have had and we live by the sea.. Nice simple ingredients. Relaxed atmosphere. Service very good.

If you are in the Pearl Brewery area and like fish then its definitely worth a visit.

“Fantastic culinary Ok front srvice!”
Reviewed September 8, 2013

Our concierge recommended dining at the Sandbar...gold stars for him. After starting the evening with cocktails at the Bluebox (try an "Old Fashioned"). We enjoyed our dinner of short ribs and tile fish. Great culinary. Not sure the hostess stand ever got it figured out. We'll be back.

“Fresh, really fresh”
Reviewed August 15, 2013

We met two other couples at The Sandbar to catch up. While the standard menu is very good, the daily specials are always superb. I started with a white Gazpacho, cool and light for the summer. Others had oysters on the half shell and were very pleased. The highlight of the meal was the John Dory special. Highly recommended.

“Has to be recommended”
Reviewed August 12, 2013

We were there with friends for lunch. It was much better than we had expected in every way. Atmosphere, service, wine list, delicious dishes and finally, reasonable prices... San Antonio has many good eateries but Sandbar is perfect. It has be recommended.

“Great service, atmosphere, and the food!”
Reviewed July 8, 2013

While visiting family in San Antonio, we had the opportunity to visit this little restaurant at the north end of the Riverwalk. We were greeted and seated quickly. My uncle was blinded by the sun coming in the window, so we asked to be reseated. No problem! Our waiter, Adam, was very accommodating in moving us and our drinks to a table along the wall. I ordered the Diver Sea Scallops (yum), my husband had the Scottish salmon. Both were well prepared and so delicious.
The atmosphere is slightly industrial, but fits. There is outdoor seating under awnings as well as a bar area near the kitchen that overlooks oysters and such on ice..sort of like a sushi bar. We were very impressed with the care taken to make our evening memorable. We definitely will return on our next visit.
