This hotel is very conveniently located next to the convention center with quick access to the Riverwalk and RiverCenter shopping. It's a newer, modern hotel -- very clean, nice views. Fitness center is fabulous with great LifeFitness cardio equipment. Pool was closed when I was there. Achiote restaurant was awesome -- lunch buffet is great. Hotel and restaurant staff were incredibly friendly and service oriented. Best customer service I have had in a long time.

The newest and biggest addition to the Riverwalk-area hotels in San Antonio is the Grand Hyatt and the name fits. Grand, indeed. I came here for a conference and was not disappointed. Service was excellent in every sense of the word from check in to check out. Staff stumbled over themselves asking how they could help and make my stay better. While pricey, one should expect as much from a place named the Grand Hyatt on the Riverwalk. If you want value, go over to La Quinta.

The Internet connection was great and fast and the rooms featured modern decoration with a nice, large flat screen television. Stayed in a double-double which had a nice coach and ottoman by the window. Bathrooms were large and had a very nice, large sink with good amenities (shampoos, creams, toothpaste). The bed mattresses were comfortable.

The only negative I can think of is that the rooms were on the smallish side ... but it is a little blip on the radar. Otherwise, this is an impressive hotel and one dedicated to making your stay a very good one.

No complaints, stayed there for a conference. On the Riverwalk no need for car you can walk to everything you need. Checked in under business plan breakfast, one water bottle perday, free shirt pressing and newspaper were included.

Reserved a king room months ahead of the meeting and was told on check in they were all out and was give two doubles. Not great when the wife is coming along for the trip. Rooms were small. Hotel offers internet starting at $10/day. The nice rooftop pool was, of course, closed for construction during our stay (although they did offer free shuttles to the other downtown Hyatt to use theirs). Concierge recommended chain restaurants when we asked about authentic southwest food. Overall, not a great value for a good name like Hyatt.

It is a very hospitable place. Enjoyed the accessibility to the Riverwalk and convenience to the Alamo! Only suggestions to the hotel would be: Offer complimentary internet services. Most Hyatt's I've stayed at offer complimentary wifi! There is a need for better ventilation in the restaurant from the grill. This is the only restaurant in the hotel, and even with our large conference group, they were very efficient & gracious. Food was definitely delicious, though, at the restaurant! Loved the mexican cornbread!! Artwork throughout the hotel was beautiful. Very inviting Lobby!

Just stayed in this hotel over Labor Day weekend and was very pleased. As a convention center hotel, it didn't seem very busy as we expected for a holiday weekend. Others have indicated it is off the beaten path, which we didn't find to be a problem since it is a nice stroll or river taxi ride to all the Riverwalk restaurants and shopping.

As Diamond Gold Passport members, we were upgraded (without asking) to a "Grand Suite," which consisted of 2 connecting rooms, one of which had a bed, bathroom, lounge chair desk and TV, the other had a large Queen sofa bed, coffee table, full bathroom, desk and TV. Having the extra bathroom and TV worked out nicely traveling with our teenage daughter. Suite was on the 21st floor with nondescript city view. Soundproofing was very good. Our bedroom was adjacent to a mechanical room that was quite noisy in the hall, but we couldn't hear a thing inside our room.

The Grand Club on the 23rd floor was very nice and has a great view of the Tower of the Americas. Their coffee machine is the best I've seen at a Hyatt. It is very fast and offers a nice variety of latte, espresso, capuccino coffees. They keep refrigerators stocked with water, soft drinks and juices to help yourself to throughout the day with an honor bar in the evening. Breakfast was a nice assortment of pastries, bagles, and fresh fruit. Huge cookies were offered mid day with cold hors d'ouvres and delicious desserts in the evening.

We found the service at the hotel to be excellent.
