I stayed here during a conference. The people are very nice, the service is great, the hotel is remodeled, and the fitness center is amazing. I would definitely stay here again. Walking distance to everything you would want to see in San Antonio.

My husband accompanied me to San Antonio for a convention and we stayed with our group at the Grand Hyatt. Convenience was what made us stay here but if we had come on our own, there were more affordable hotels within a one block walk that we would check out the next time. The hotel lobby was oversized and luxurious - as we've come to expect from Texas! - but we were surprized to learn that the hotel was only 2 years old. Given the layout and design of the rooms, the lack of drawer space and the utilitarian bathrooms led us to the idea that the hotel was much older. An unfortunate stain on the seat of the lounge chair was a bit disconcertining, in spite of the discounted convention rate we paid for the room. The staff was amazing, however and more than made up for the less than exciting rooms with their stellar professionalism, friendliness and service! Each night we took advantage of the River Walk that was right outside our back door. What a plus for the city of San Antonio having that landscaping wonder! The Grand Hyatt was in a perfect location to walk to the Alamo, the Tower of the Americas and to visit the Riverwalk Mall. Aside from the shops along the River Walk, the other malls were a $25 or $50 cab ride each direction, so shopping was hard to get to.

Room Tip: Rooms with a north or west exposure get the best view. Our room faced south and we had an excellent...

Stayed here for a conference. The hotel and conference center were very nice. Staff was friendly. The meeting space is nice and food was decent. The hotel was very close to the river walk which is great to be able to walk to restaurants and explore the river walk area. It was about a 10-15 minute cab ride from the airport.

I was at a conference and stayed at this hotel. It is right next to the convention center and on the river walk, but a quiet part of it (which is good!). The staff were remarkably friendly and helpful and the rooms terrific. Very comfortable beds, and nicely appointed bathrooms. Relatively quiet. The conference food was particularly great. It also had a terrific exercise room!

Room Tip: Close to the elevator is good because the halls are very long

Currently here for a conference and staying at this hotel. While the rooms are well-decorated and the meeting space is very nice, this hotel is way too expensive for the guest experience. To begin with, the lobby is laid out in a strange configuration. The rooms are even oddly configured. The "door" to the closet is bizarre. However, the real crime of this hotel is that you are charged for wireless internet PER device, which is just disgusting. Could you nickle and dime your guests any more? My experience with the fitness center was less than desirable. It is huge and had has a decent amount of equipment. However, each visit the space was so incredibly humid with no air ventilation that it was unbearable. In addition, the water cooler was completely empty. Back in my own room, the coffeemaker was missing a piece to place the coffee bag/filter. I left a note for housekeeping which never fixed the situation. In addition, my ice bucket has been sitting next to door with water for past two days. This place is a bit of a hot mess. It's pretty to look at but that's about it.

Fantastic location, hotel and very friendly and accommodating staff. Great location to The River Walk and The Alamo! Everything is within walking distance, but it helped they offered hotel parking. This was a business and leisure trip so the couple extra days we spent at the hotel was wonderful. Very friendly staff. Very courteous people. We would definitely stay here again!
