Three night stay at this B&B could not have been better. The B&B is in a beautiful, and beautifully kept and furnished, old home. It is filled with old but comfortable furniture. It's one block from the mansions on King William street (and Madison St. has a mansion and many beautiful homes as well). Right off King William street is the Riverwalk (the tamer end) from which you can take a quick walk to the hopping downtown part or jog or bike for miles in the other direction.

Delicious breakfast is served on china by the owners, Lily and Roland, who are absolutely delightful people.

Every day after our touring (don't miss the the Japanese Tea Garden in Brackenridge Park or the San Antonio Botanical Gardens), we'd sit outside on the veranda in front or deck out back and play cards.

Feel bad giving cleanliness only a 5. There is not a speck of dust in any nook or cranny of the intricately carved old furniture.

Room Tip: Bluebird suite and Hummingbird room connect through Bluebird suite's kitchenette area. Worked out perfectly for us (a couple) and mother-in-law and sister-in-law. Though they're obviously not a couple, king bed in the Hummingbird room worked as well as 2 twin beds would have.

Just spent three wonderful days in San Antonio at the Brackenbridge House B&B. Excellent breakfast every day, made to feel very welcome by Lilly who even put the Union Jack out on the main balcony in our honour. Our room and ensuite were charming and totally self contained. Would definately go again when in San Antonio!

We have experienced several B&Bs in the past three years and Brakenridge House is one of the best. Lily and Roland have attended to every need in the charming, period-pieced rooms and suites. The bed was more comfortable than our home bed!. The King William district is steeped in history, enjoyable walking throughout including local eateries. The house is just a short walk from the Riverwalk and other downtown sites. Breakfast is delicious and varied. Don't forget to check out the beautiful jewelry that Lily makes!. We love San Antonio and will definately return here on our next trip to the area.

My husband and I flew from Boston to meet our Chicago friends for a long weekend getaway in San Antonio. After reading reviews of lodging options, we agreed on Brackenridge House. The location in King William is an easy walk to Riverwalk and the Alamo at a more affordable price than the major downtown hotels.

Our first floor Wren Suite has a queen bedroom, shower bathroom and kitchen. The upstairs suite has a king bed, fireplaced sitting room, tub in bathroom, kitchen, and it's adjacent to a private porch were we relaxed at night. This charming, comfortable 1935 house features wood floors, antique furnishings, front and rear porches.

Hosts Roland and Lily prepared and served superb full breakfasts in the dining room. Three flavors of sorbet completed our meal. We enjoyed meeting several new people at breakfast and look forward to a future B&B experience.

I found this place online and we were pleasantly surprised to find it on a tree-lined street in a residential neighborhood. Our room was charming, the amenities abundant, and the breakfast delicious. The attention to detail is evident everywhere. The room was clean and well stocked with towels, toiletries, snacks, and drinks, including brandy, wine, beer, soda and water. The breakfast table is in a lovely dining room and is set with fine china. The B&B is a 10 minute walk from Riverwalk and downtown San Antonio. There are several restaurants just "around the corner" as well. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and we loved San Antonio. We'll definitely be back!
