I’ve been to a few Rain Forest Cafes and this one is like the others. It was the perfect place to go when we visited my sister and her grandkids. The children’s menu had a Treasure Hunt that had them going through the restaurant to find animals etc. And the balloon gal was talented. The pictures were fun and only $10 for two 4 x 6. A great place for kids!

We eat at the Rainforest Cafe in every US city we go to, but the one in San Antonio on the River Walk has by far the best and most varied forest design and critters! We would love to have been able to show it to our granddaughter. She would have loved it as much as we did! The food is always consistent and delicious.

We were looking to have a late lunch on the riverwalk, but wanted something reasonably healthy (heaven forbid!). So we decided on The Rainforest Cafe even though we try to stay away from national chains while traveling, and prefer to explore more unique offerings. They had the salad/soup type stuff we were looking for, no problem. We wanted to sit outside (it's cool inside and all, but kind of dark, and when you're on the riverwalk, people, and it's 70 outside... dine al fresco!) and there was apparently no one designated to take care of the outside tables. So the server who seated us chose to personally take care of our table, running up and down the stairs for the sole purpose of helping us and letting us have what we wanted. He was also very friendly and approachable. He deserves 5 stars all by himself!

We visited San Antonio to see friends and took the kids to The Rainforest Cafe. Despite arriving during the lunch rush on a Saturday they seated our table of 9 fairly quickly. The service was slow but I think our waitress was new, but friendly, so we didn't hold it against her. The kids loved the animatronics but the music inside was awful loud for holding our conversation. The food took forever to arrive but was hot and delicious. Overall, an adequate experience during our short trip but I think we'll go somewhere else next trip.

Kids would love this place with the Aminatron animals coming to life and/or the fake thunderstorms happening for a few minutes every hour. The decor is really cool - like a jungle or rain forest with leafy ceilings with periodic breaks to see stars above and so on. For the atmosphere, food was very good as well.
